this is where CART drops the ball. they should do as many street courses as possible. F1 should subsidise them as it will increase interest in open wheel racing. it seems many large cities would be able to support that level of racing. as for F1 i don't think they could generate the cashflow to make it happen. |

I'd be all for it. I've heard rumors about F1's interest in adding to their North American races, with Montreal out, it's now... "race" I guess. |

This has been talked about many times in the past but there has never been local support for the idea. Indycar moved their race from NY (the Meadowlands) to Nazareth,PA because there wasn't enough interest. Of course, the Meadowlands GP was a parking lot race and we all know how "exciting" THAT can be. But I will keep my fingers crossed and if it happens, will personally buy a beer for every F-Chatter who shows up at the first event! Unfortunately I don't think I will have to do it. |

I read in Street & Smith Sports Business Journal last night that some investers in NYC are negotiating with FIA to have an F1 race there in the future. The article mentions plans to build a road course in some park in Queens. I sure hope it happens. |
