Hi,
I went last year, going again this year. We go with a group fronm the FerrariList. Staying at the Hotel du Fort, 5 minute walk to the Metro station. Jay, General Adminssion gives you very little viewing opportunities. Near Stand 31 is the most open area and it was not great. Listers are at Stand 31 this year again. I might try the Queen Elizabeth, since I am there 3 days every week anyway :-)
Montreal is great, any time of year but especially in the summer. Take an FRS radio, channel 3x8 is what we usually use. Hotel du Fort has secure parking.

I've been going to Montreal for 10 years, and it never fails to deliver. You'd be hard pressed to find a better host city. We've sat all over the track, and enjoy the Senna Curve (Silver 11 & 12) the best. I have actually tired of the "system" the organizers use for tickets and renewals. Ever since Jacques came into F1, interest soared, and since then my ticket forms have been mishandled every way imagineable. We have resorted to buying through a broker. This costs a little more, but you can usually choose whatever you want. We even showed up last year w/o tickets, and got great seats through the hotel concierge. I guess I shouldn't endorse this, as I am creating competition for myself!

One of our favorite rituals is to congregate at the beer garden just outside the metro entrance after leaving the track. Over the years we have met and befriended many people, whom we meet every year. The group continues to grow, and we sing all the French drinking songs and so on. If anyone is gonna be there, look (and listen) for us. It's actually pretty funny, since most of us speak only French or English, with one or two who know a little of both. Never seems to be a problem, though...

You can purchase tickets thru your local Ferrari dealer. They have Paddock club tickets and you're treated to some great access from what I understand. For Montreal the price is $4200 each for the 3 days. This is the only way to get close without having a connection. Ciao.

Does anyone have any experience with Formula One Tours, GP Tours or any of the other tour outfits they would like to share? Also, are pit passes (or the current equivalent) available other than through a sponsor connection?

O MY GAWD!!! There is a 24 hour indoor go kart track/ paintball facility in Montreal. I hope I won't be the only one of us there. friday nite after dinner sounds about right. maybe we can lure some BMW/ Maclaren supporters in for a round of paintball or a few laps on the track..

Canada is a beautiful time. Many "Tifosi" and great F1 fans. Food and wine and a Ferrari victory. What can be better? Nothing... Friends and I stay at the Radisson in Longeuil. Metro is 2 stop til the track. We have seats at the 2nd row in the hairpin 2 sections before the curve. Hate to say it but the highlight is the tour in the McLaren garage during practice. We have a hookup with Mobil International and have a set 1/2 hour either before or after practice in the pits. Talk about AWESOME access even though it's the enemy camp. Oh well, spy photos are fun. If you haven't gone to the race make sure you go at least once... You'll never miss it again. Ciao.

Tough part about the Cdn GP is that it always falls on a busy weekend - LeMans, or CART Detroit race.......

heck - I had my brother even get married one year that weekend.......but I made it to the race!!! I certainly did!!! :) (grin)

I'll be there also (I hope) staying with a friend who lives near by. I think I'm gonna get General Admission and ruff it. Where is the best place in General Admission? (Like anyone goes there!:)) I'd love to get together with some other FC members, but unfortunately my car won't be ready by race day.

Nika;
We have gone the past few years....a nice time and a good club. The night life used to be better when they had the main drag open, and you could park your Ferrari in front of the Clubs. I think when Jag "rented" the strip took some of the fun out of it.

I am at seat section 11. I realy like the first turn area, and 11 is the best. The hairpin is also great. I think we are staying at the Queen Elizabeth. I want to get a list of everyone who is going sometime in May and see if we can get a Ferrari Chat dinner going.

Holiday Inn Longueil (sp?) is the closest. Subway in is the best unless you know the back way out.

I prefer the hair pin.
