I'll talk to my mom and get the details, It would be pretty cool to see one of them pulling 18000rpms and 200 mph. And to see the Scuderia Ferrari in action, that would be the best part.

Yeah I can get tickets to any of the GP races. I have never been to one, I really have to go to one soon. It's weird seeing the car in person and being able to touch it and all, it's kind of like hanging around with Wayne Gretzky or Michael Jordan. I have to see a race.

Great shots Bret! You know, with your M-B connections, you should try to scam a place at Indy. (or Monaco). Nobody on this site would accuse you of consorting with the enemy. You could wear a Ferrari T shirt under your M-B jacket.

Bret,
Great photos. Thanks for posting them.
Many years ago, I spent a good amount of my spare time as a turn marshall at SCCA events and spent may enjoyable (and adrenline filled) hours watching F1 cars up close.
You really can't imagine one of those small, sleek machines screaming by at 180mph and 14,000 rpm until you've experienced it -- you don't just hear it, you can feel, smell and taste it. Ah, the memories. . . ..
By the way, I just sent in my reservations for the F1 race at Indy in Sept. It will be my wife's first F1 race.

In the pic of the rear you can see the exhaust tips, the half shafts, where the jack goes under for pit stops, the air diffuser for the air coming from under the car, and the gigantic red SLK, I guess everything is big compared to an F1 car.

Cars have come a long way from the original Mercedes-Benz in the background. It is a one-cylinder, .7hp belt driven tricycle. The car in the foreground is a little more high tech.

The car is longer than it looks on TV. It's like a dart, Long and narrow (damn 70" regulation on width).

Hopefully Ferrari doesn't see much of this view.

See the 55mm higher front wing (to try and help encourage passing, less disturbance from the car in front of you). Look at how low it is. It's really impressive.

#3, the car of the enemy Finn, notice the new less efficient (as mandated by the FIA), three piece rear tail. Those wide rear tires on Enkei 13" rims.

OK, I resized the images so they are a little more reasonable. It is amazing to be able to go right up to the car and touch it. I wanted to get a picture of me (or at least someone) next to the car, but unfortunately I was the only person around. Maybe sometime this week I will get a pic of me next to it. I should be a spy for Ferrari. Everything in the car though is covered for aerodynamics/keeping things secretive so it is hard to really see that much about it. Like the brakes are covered on both sides. One thing that is neat is that the MB engine has rear exhaust whereas the Ferrari has snorkel exhausts.
