Thanks Wayne,

I do know you live close but I hate to invite myself over to people's houses or asssume they would want to drive over to mine. I would have picked it up. I will be sure and drop it off in person now if that's o.k. Or if you want to come up for that matter. We can take the f-car out for lunch. It should only take a day or so for the video.

Matt, went out Fed-Ex today for Monday afternoon delivery. You realize that you live 15-20 minutes from me? If I wasn't working all weekend, I could have just drove it over. Oh well.

Hey everyone - I'm new to this board... local to the southern calif. area (Irvine)...and first-time F-car owner (348). If there are local meetings planned, let me know! - I sure wouldn't want to pass up a drive through the canyons or down the coast! ;)

matt,

thank you for your response. my car is an 83
amerispec car that has been fully re euro configured by auto sport (roberto villa) in modena. i was told by a san diego exotic car guy that there may be a provision in dept of mot vehicles that allows for someone to move to ca and not be hit by the smog folks. was told that
they are most interested in increasing the tax base pipe dream nor what?

do i have options? will i be harrassed if i have out of state plates? do i need to look for an older car?

Peter,

What year is your bbi?

In California, it must pass smog inspection. If your car came equiped with smog equipment, then it must be reinstalled before you can register it. In California, there is no spending limit on getting the car to pass smog. Do you have the DOT, EPA and BAR info for your car?

folks,
i will be re-locating to san diego prior to the first of the year. i would love to get involved with your group.

i do have a question however, will i have any problems w/ my 512 bbi and emissions?

is there a provision that will allow this car to be used but not re-sold in ca. ? please advise.

Hey how about the month of March? It doesn't seem that there are alot of things going on in that month. I had the idea that we could have a get together on or around St.Patricks Day. We could call it the "Shamrock Shenanigins Rally". What do you guys think?

martin, while your in S.B. you have to go to a place called taco la special, its about 2/3 of the way up milpas on the right hand side, everything is ala carte, get anything, its all great, its a funky looking little place but dont be fooled, usaully safe parking on the street
now that i think about it a drive to the S.B. Botanical Gardens whould be would be an excellent run

I am trying for Feb 1. Will you be around?

That would be a nice drive from SB to Irvine.

Tha Marconi sounds good, a friends wife works there, perhaps we could get some shady parking if we call ahead to reserve?

Copy of the previous thread

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matt,

How did you know I was in the tow truck business? j/k. Well, if you guys plan something in the OC area that's OK w/ me. Like I said, I'm just going for the drive; not everyday you can share the road w/ a gaggle of Ferrari's.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds good.I would prefer somewhere between
Los Angeles and Orange county.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hubert,

If we drive that far, we will need a convoy of tow trucks behind us... If we get enough SD people, we could meet on OC? It's kinda half way.

Arnaldo,

I have see your testarossa I think...Sept you were heading east on 126 by filmore.. I was heading west in my 308. We waved..

Post all your suggestions.

Rob, could you set up a ferrari-chat area under regionals for Los Angeles? This way we are not taking up eneral discussion space.
:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you LA/OC guys wouldn't mind the drive, here in San Diego the drive out to Julian is really nice, and the roads are pristine. No wine to speak of, just homemade apple pie, parking may be an issue as there is only one main street in Julian, but with some forethought private parking could be arranged. Then again, I'd just be along for the drive, in my Hon-duh.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great idea Matt! I will be just getting back from vacation during that time, but might be able to make it.

Topanga Cyn. seems always crowded to me. Other good drives are Mulholland Hwy. starting west from Las Virgenes road and ending up in PCH, and Verdugo Canyon starting from PCH and ending in Mulholland.

Another good areas, a bit further north, are the roads in the Santa Barbara Wine country, and the Lake Casitas/Ojai area. Wine sampling might be good, except for the drink and don't drive part.
Anyway, keep us posted.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll drive up from San Diego.
Keep this thread alive until date/place/activities are established.
Sounds like fun!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
shahin,

Did you still want to come over and talk shop?

Also, my neighbor Joe is looking at getting M3, any advice,

e-mail or call me

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You don't have to fly him in...
he's not really Danish. He's already in LA
we just have to pick him up in Hollywood...
ie. fantasy land - home of the pretentious

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sat January 18th o.k.?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
sounds good, we should keep this post at the top in order to get a good crowd.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd like to join in too, prefer Saturdays though... love the Topanga Canyon drive,
but we would have to go early to avoid traffic.
Angeles Crest is nice too, but every time
I go I seem to get a speeding ticket, and I already
have three!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gene,

Canyon drive sounds good. From the Valley to this mexican restraunt off PCH by Kanan.

Plenty of hidden parking..

Sounds good?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let's take up a collection to fly him in for a public flogging.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tom,

I'll even pick him up at the airport.

M

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Karten/jonas/whatever

If you fly in to meet matt, I will pay to see it

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Matt,
January looks good to me...
Possible suggestion... drive through
Topanga Canyons.... or drive through
hills of Angeles Crest

does anyone know if there will be a
Rodeo car show in the near future to debut
the Enzo?

Anyone is So Cal interested in getting together in mid January? or later to give us some time to plan? We could meet in Southern LA county or Northern LA county. I am thinking a place where we could meet and not get molested by passers-by. I figure mid-Jan would give us sometime to plan and organize.

Hans, you could take the derail special and come down here again!
