Ok... bad news. My clutch gave out last night... left me temporarily stranded on PCH in Newport Beach. I managed to get the car up to LA today to Dark Horse Motors, where hopefully, they can diagnose and fix the problem. So... Rain or Shine, I have no car to drive tomorrow. :-( However, if the weather is decent tomorrow, I believe the drive is still on. I will still show up for some coffee and meet everyone... shotgun anyone? :-)

Maybe someone upstairs is telling us not to head out this weekend, eh? Should we just call it off, guys? (My clutch slave cylinder needs a little TLC anyways)...

We can always do a raincheck on this drive, guys... (no pun intended) ;)

Hey guys,
Unfortunately if it does rain this weekend I am out.
Why don't we set up a short drive up or down the coast next weekend if it is dry?

Usual pre-drive preparation suggested... full tanks, check fluids, tires, check brakes, fire extinguishers... oh, and cameras, of course!

Please confirm by Saturday so we know you can make it. Hope to see you all there!

Jean-Louis,

Otrega highway is in Southern Orange County. It starts in San Juan Capistranio and goes east to Hemet. It's a nice drive with some fast sweepers and some nice switch backs. There are some nice straight parts. It sould be a nice day for it.

I heard about that... ouch. Whose car was that? Thanks for the tip - I'll put a call out to the local auto club to see if they will be able to accomodate. Anyone have a spare extinguisher I can borrow just in case?...;)

Byron,

Check with local tow trucks just in case. See if they can accomidate the Ferrari's. I am not joking. The last drive I went out on a 355 went up in flames.

Guys, I'm getting together the final details - I will post them here, hopefully by end of day tomorrow. Tentatively, we want to meet around 8-9am in Orange County (probably Irvine), map out a course to Ortega Highway, do a nice morning drive, then meet for lunch. As I mentioned before, there will be at least 3 NSX's there, plus the F-cars, and maybe some others.

Let's see, if we all go, that would be...
Byron
Gene
Matt
Jean-Louis
(1 other 355 spider)

...am I missing anyone?

Stay tuned. More details to follow!

For those that are interested...

I am new to the Ferrari community as well... some friends and I will be getting together for a drive next sunday, 12/15. Since I was formerly part of the NSX community, it will be maybe 3-5 NSX's, some stock, some modified, plus myself. We are looking to do a morning to early-afternoon drive probably up towards the canyons of Malibu and head down the coast. Nothing formal - just a bunch of car-loving guys who want to go for a good sunday drive.

Jean, you're welcome to join us, if you like. Same goes for anyone else who has the morning free. It's not an official club event by any stretch, but it would be a good opportunity to meet up and for some of us to meet and get to know one another.

Just email me/call me and I'll fill you on details.
