Let me know how this goes. I would be more than happy to attend/participate. I live in Ventura which is just a stones throw away. My wife (teacher) also has a friend (teacher) who lives up i Valencia. Even if you don't do the fund raiser let's get together sometime.

Before I contact FOC and FCA, I was wondering how many of you would be intrested in a fund raiser for some local schools in the Valencia area. I work for the Newhall School District and we are facing some really bad budget cuts. Some quality programs are being cut for at risk kids and a program to help non english speaking parents to learn english to help their kids. I am thinking about a the first Sunday of June. All makes would be welcome from p-cars to NSX's to lambo. It would consist of a drive with some kids around town with (i hope) sherrif escort to a quick mountain road drive so the kids can see if they stay in school, they can hopfully get one of these cars. Once the ride is over, we would get special parking in town center and I am hoping to get some local merchants to donate items such as food or money to the program. I would like to make all this tax deductable. I am going to contact FOC and FCA in Jan to see if I can get there support and then take it to the Governing Board of the district to make it all legal for a specific donation to these programs and that they be used for educational uses only.
Any thoughts? |
