Sure, Matt. I found mine in a post on Ferrariforum.net. the problem with that forum is that they get about 10 posts a day total on the whole board. |

There were a lot of those frames at the Ferrari Owners Club annual meeting Sunday. I have some pictures of the cars. There was an F-40. Probably about 45 cars in total. Want me to post a few?

Bruce, The 11-99 Foundation is a non-profit charitable foundation set up by the California Highway Patrol to help officers and their families. Here is an excerpt from the website: What is 11-99? In the coded jargon of the California Highway Patrol, the call for an officer needing assistance is 11-99. It's appropriate then that an organization established to aide officers and employees of the California Highway Patrol be named the CHP 11-99 Foundation. What is the CHP 11-99 Foundation? The CHP 11-99 Foundation was founded in 1981 by Bob Weinberg as a charitable non-profit organization. This Foundation was created to provide benefits to California Highway Patrol employees and their families. This financial need generally arises due to a prolonged illness or death. The CHP 11-99 Foundation is an organization that is very different from most charities. In fact you might not have heard of the 11-99 Foundation and there is reason for that. Over the years we have concentrated on benefitting the employees of the California Highway Patrol and spend little time or money promoting our charity's work and successes. Our membership is made up of people from all walks of life who, like us, want to see the money they donate go directly to the causes of the charity. This is what the CHP 11-99 Foundation is very proud of. Our members are very supportive of the law and have always had a great respect for officers of the law. They have a demanding and difficult job and they should have the public's support. We wish we were never needed, but, in fact, all too often we are. At the time of a CHP employee's distress and need, we're glad to be of some help and comfort to them and their families. http://www.chp1199.org/index2.htm Membership info: http://www.chp1199.org/index2.htm By the way... there are no "guarantees" to get off tickets, but sometimes, CHP officers have been known to give you "a break" if you are a lifetime member of 11-99 Foundation. -B.

I had very close encounter with La Jolla PD yesterday... I'll leave some details out (aka...who I was driving next to)..but I was in La Jolla after the NSX event, meeting up with a friend. We had just stopped by the Ferrari dealer and were on our way up to Del Mar for dinner... We were having fun with our cars a bit when before you know it... I see a car following closely behind me. Hmmm... I guess with my factory Challenge exhaust, I'm not too hard to miss! Anyways... after about 1/2 mile, he hits his lights and I'm pulled over. The officer tells me that he heard loud squealing of tires and proceeded to follow me. APPARENTLY, there was a report of a hot-wired ferrari earlier in the evening, and he thought I was that ferrari, taking the car out for a joy-ride. (Well, I guess driving around without plates makes me an easier target, too!)... anyways, after we chatted a little bit about how there isn't a secondary market for stolen f-car parts, etc... and after he took a look at my operational permit, ran my license, etc... he was nice and let me be on my way. Thankfully, he didn't look in my engine bay or wasn't standing so close to my exhaust area to smell the exhaust fumes!... Matt, I was thinking... if he started to tear up, I'd really be in trouble!!! LOL.... Anyways, that's my story. Phew. A close call, but no problems there. But man, I need to get my hands on a 11-99 Member plate frame! |

Hah funny story I was driving home from rehearsal a few minutes ago tonight and a yellow Z06 Corvette sped past me on the on-ramp to the freeway. He must have been doing 90 or so and as soon as he merged he slammed on the breaks...I wondered why and then I saw he merged right behind a CHP officer I think he got pulled over but i passed them before I could see. I also saw a sweet yellow Diablo Roadster after the rehearsal tonight. The road was empty...and the ownder wasn't taking his time |

I was driving home west on the 210 almost to the 118. The 10 miles prior to that are not very crowded and I was cruising about 90 most of the way. At one point I punched it for a few seconds and got to 120 but backed down pretty quick. A mile after I backed down I was still doing 90. I was in lane 1 and I noticed a CHP had come from nowhere and was in the lane 3 to my right. I knew I was busted. I moved over to lane 2 in front of another car, turned off the stereo and prepared mentally for a ticket. I slowed down a little bit but not enough to be drastic. He pulled to his left to the fast lane and speeded up and got close to me. Then he pulled away and left me. I was still going almost 90. I think he got close enough to read my 11-99 foundation license plate and gave me a break. Whew. |
