I actually like the exposed headlights of the F512M better than the covered lights of the 512TR or the regular TR. They are much closer to the 512BBi/308/328/Mondial/355/360 and some earlier vintages. They seem like the true taillights to me. Having said that, I still like the 348 & Testarossa lights, just not quite as much. |

512 is usually referred to the 75-84 series of cars not the chesse grater look TR is the "miami vice" car and is the first in the cheese grater look 512th is a upgraded version of the TR the 512M is a garish looking bling bling 512TR with exposed headlights. Fast as heck and rare. I think I have the TR buyers guide but not the 512 |

David, No problems on the questions. The great thing about these cars is that once you think you know a few things about a certain model or even your own, you learn something new and the process repeats... it makes ownership very interesting! The Forza guides are buyer guides that are in various issues of the Forza magazine. In the past, they've had buyers guides printed for the 512s, 348s, 328s... etc... you might put a post on the general discussion board - there are enough 512 owners out there that I'm sure someone will just send you one by mail/email. Hopefully, you do get into an Fcar so that you can join us on our drives! B. |

Matt, thanks for the clarification, as I've followed this forum for a short while, and would someday love to join in on the fun drives when the time is right to pick one up. I am sorry for the newbie question, what's the forza guide? is is available online? I am interested in learning more about the TR, never understood the difference in 512, 512M, 512TR..etc. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Calvin. The 512tr are the better of the TR family. It's more refined then the TR and it's not has garish as the 512M But as will all 12 cyl rear engine Ferrari's, they require deep pockets to keep running. A 30k major will set you back 7 - 10 K. James Selevan on the board just had one on his TR and it was that much. All TR series require a engine out service. Clutches are not that bad due to the transverse alignment of the transmission. Depending on the milage or age, it my require new shock all around due to it's weight. The TR line has 6 of them. 2 in the front and 4 in the back. They are also prone to bizarre electrical issues and have a delicate oil pan under the car. Get the Forza Buyers guide on the 512. It's an eye opener. |

I think the 512 TR is a beautiful car. I hope to get one next year or the year after that. If I cannot afford that model, I will look at the 88-91 models. |

Any comment or suggestion on this? The more I look at her, the more beautiful she became. What do you think? Any suggestion? Calvin |
