Thanks for the rapid response gentlemen! To answer your question DES, no emissions problem, I am not sure if its the case on standard 348's but the MOT crowd does not have ANY emission specs for the GTC, thus, they don't even do the emissions test! I have two CATs on the car that are totally disintigrated internally (IE they are doing nothing) and have been for the last two MOTs. It is exempt according to the MOT guys, bit of a bonus I can do ANYTHING to the exhaust...With the Tubi Testpipes the CATs are removed completely apparently removing back pressure and when combined with a performance airfilter will alledgedly deliver roughly another 30-35 BHP. Thanks for the info Hugh, I am going to contact Tino as we speak and see if he has the parts and what the cost might be. Good point on the flight thing I do need to check. I am travelling Air Canada which touch wood has let me bring anything back so many times, as long as it goes in the hold. I even brought back a 7 foot artificial Christmas tree year before last (we dont build'em like you guys, ours resemble a half dozen pipe cleaners twisted together, could barely get it in the car, (not the Ferrari before you ask!). I am sure the Tubi crowd can give me weight/dimensions etc, I am more worried how customs will react but that is the chance I take I guess. Thanks for all the help will let you know how I get on. |

Gordo one thing to keep in mind, is that all international flight are now only allowing two pieces per person and there is a maximum weight per bag as well. My mom recently went back to europe with a comforter and paid an extra 200 to have it go on the plane with her. Call the airline and see what it would cost. Another benefit is warranty issues, it may not be covered locally in England if it was purchased in the US should something go wrong. |

On the subject of Tubi exhausts I wonder if someone could assist me. I own a 348GTC and was on the verge of purchasing tubi manifolds and testpipes here in the UK. I have been quoted 2400 (I guess roughly $3600) unfitted by a UK based dealer. Question 1: Is there anyone that could tell me if there are any Tubi dealers in the San Fran area? And Question 2: Anyone have any idea what the cost would be if purchased there? I am in SF next week and thought just maybe I could get them there if cheaper (which I somehow suspect they will be) and bring them back to the UK with me... I suspect the manifolds/testpipes will be the same as the 348GTs (I know I should check first) and having read the output here it sounds reasonable I could fit it myself All help and advice greatfully received |
