Alan has helped me chase down a number of questions I've had in the past...great guy. Btw, on a TR, the drain plugs have been known to strip (like the 348's)... I'm sure Alan has told you that already. There is a helicoil fix that Auto Gallery does or one that you can do yourself easily during your next oil change. |

I took my TR in for the seat belt recall yesterday to the Auto Gallery in Woodland Hills. Alan Johnson, the service manager, and his staff did a great job on the new seat belt installation. Since I had to travel 2 hours to get there, they got me in and out there in a quick fashion. I have not had any free time to complete my first oil change so I also had them complete this at the end of the repairs. As Giuseppe, the mechanic got into the oil change, he discovered that the previous mechanic must have used some sort of impact wrench to install the plug on the reservior and filter. Giuseppe had to bypass the reservior plug and drain the oil via the oil line. Several wrenches later and a ton of muscle power finally got the old oil filter off the car. This was one oil change that I am glad I did not do myself! |
