Black 512TR in the shopping center parking lot on the corner of El Toro and Rockfield (Near the Costume Castle). Looked really clean (which was great considering all of the ash in the air!)

Tonight on my way home from Dromo 1 (indoor go kart track) I was passed by a yellow 355 TB on the 57 north at around midnight. It looked and sounded good, we were all going crazy in the car I was in wishing we had our Ferrari's with us.

Red Testarossa on the back of an open-air car carrier on the 405S...strapped right behind to what looked like a factory fresh Jetta (although I was a bit too far away to tell).

I also drove right past David and his Silver NSX in Irvine this evening. I waved but dont think he saw :-)

Hey Byron-

I think the other Jaguar was a dark blue and the other was Titanium. I had heard about the Enzo at Black on Black, but I don't think it was there (it was midnight & I didn't stop). I loved looking at the cars last night & can't wait to check out the other dealers! Also looking forward to Saturday - I may get my car back tomorrow! I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :-)

Jerry,
That's awesome. I'm guessing those Jaguar supercars were 2 XJ220-S models, right? (titanium and black :-)) If so, the black one will be displayed at SEMA in Vegas (1st week of Nov, I think) When you go to Symbolic, say hi to Harry and the guys for me! Black on black always has a great selection of cars, too... last time I passed the shop, there was a black enzo, but I haven't had a chance to go back yet.

Went to the Lambo dealer in Bev Hills yesterday on Wilshire. I haven't seen Lambos up close in a while, but I was really impressed. Those things are just beasts!

They also had a red 360 there and a couple of the Jaguar supercars, very cool. Black on Black, Symbolic, and the Ferrari dealership are also very close to the Lambo dealer - I need to make a road trip very soon to visit them all - Never been to Black on Black or Symbolic.

I went and saw Braveheart at the Academy Theater across from the Lambo dealership last night - Was very cool as Mel Gibson showed up and talked to the remaining 50 people or so about making the movie - The writer of the book was also there - Randall Wallace - Was a great night!

Also shared a freeway exit with a gold Aston Martin DB7 getting off on Jeffrey from the 405S today. Gorgeous color!

Thanks, Mark... :-)

Coop, awesome catch...! At low idle, the Enzo's exhaust has a very distinct tune, it's great... Did you say this one sounded like it had an aftermarket...? i can't even imagine how sweet that music must have been... i can't imagine what it must be like to just turn around in the middle of the day and see one of these things... i would flip out... Jordan, thanks for giving me the heads up on these pictures... :-)

ENZO on Melrose

It followed me but couldn't keep up (yeah right . . . ) I was already sitting down and sipping on my tea when it passed me. Sounded as if it had an Exhaust on.

From what dealer ship is that plate from?

New Maserati 3200 on Jamboree in front of the Court House on my way to an orchestra rehearsal.

I went out of my way to drive my Newport Autosport to catch a glimpse of some Ferraris but traffic was so bad I couldnt safely look over. However, I saw a red 355 spider at the exotic car rental place on PCH so that makes up my daily Ferrari spot :-)

It sounded like most of the Ferrari's in Newport Beach - quiet.

The last Crystal Cove event after I left, I had a guy pull up in a BMW next to me and sum it all up: "you know, it's a real treat to hear you wind out your engine. Most of the people around here drive their Ferraris like pussies."

His words, not mine.

And, I got to hear the orange Enzo, and unfortunately like most newer Ferraris, it was too quiet. He gunned it slightly after he left and it sounded good for the all of 2 seconds he had the throttle open

Great spot, Jordan... those kinds of things, unfortunately, happen all the time - I used to ride sportbikes but am strongly against doing stuff like that on public roads... it's just plain dangerous to all other drivers. I've seen some dumb spills by reckless riders...enough to keep me on 4 wheels and not 2! :-)

Anyways, this is a spotter's thread so... after our drive yesterday, I spotted a Red Daytona on sunset blvd... going east away from UCLA... then later on a 246 Dino GTS going west on sunset in brentwood. Both are great cars to see on the road!

(Oh, forgot to mention the tons of ferrari's that were on the FDC drive!)

What a day! Have the day off (if only the FDC event was today :-)) so I took a nice spin around Newport Beach and soem fun roads around there. I spotted a red 355 spider on PCH around 11:30.

At Newport Autosport I saw what looked like a 996 Turbo cabriolet. It might have been some sort of weird GT2 cabriolet but I couldnt tell as I saw it from the road. Either way it was a convertible turbo...I dont htink the factory has released them yet so it might have been a chop top.

Philips Auto next to Newport Autosport has a nice Alfa GTV6 for sale that Im going back to test drive later this week. Im thinking about trading in the Mustang and finally getting some italian!

After that I went to Disneyland for lunch and on the way back home on the 405 South I saw something absolutely crazy. A group of 3 motorcyles (really nice ones but not sure waht kind...Ducati?) riding in the carpool lane. I noticed they were going slowly, looking around behind them cautiously. Then all of the sudden all three of them popped wheelies and rode on one tire for a long time. They were almost verticle on one tire...just standing up on the freeway at 70mph. That was when I moved over to the farthest right lane of the freeway...couldnt hit one of them if they fell :-) They looked like very experienced drivers but either way, thats nto something I like to see on hte freeway! They practically slowed the freeway to 40mph because of all the other people on the road gawking.

Wow, Saturday afternoon on Wilshire Blvd. near Westwood through Beverly Hills, a red ENZO, the car looks awesome when your next to it, it is absolutely amazing to look at and the sound of that 12 cylinder singing is outrages! I gave the guy a thumbs up, but he would not give me the time of day, what a bozo!

Ok this isn't a Ferrari but worthy of mention. Today on the way to work I saw something really low and red headed towards me. I just kept looking to see what it was, low and behold it was a Metalic Red Saleen S7 headed north on the 101, around Calabasa getting into Agoura Hills. First time I have seen one driving on the road. You gotta love So Cali.

Jerry, I think Ive probably seen that same California Blue 360 spider...I saw it a few months ago driving around Northwood with the top down. It was gorgeous! Nearly caused an accident rubber necking though :-)

At the Concours yesturday, I also found out there is a 250 GT Spyder California, and a gorgeous yellow/tan 246 GTS (owned by my former dentist go figure), both in Irvine. Nothing special in my neighborhood though :-)

Jordan - The owner of the house across from me has a nice, red NSX.

I saw a California Azzure 360 convertible the other day - I just looked at the guy shaking my head up and down like, yah, that car is the shiznet!

Saw a red Mondial driven by a pretty blonde the other day - She smiled at me - Made my day. :-)

After the Concours show today, Sunny and I ran into the same silver 330 GTC (with 80k miles I might add :-)) on the Ortega Highway that we saw in the parkinglot of the Concours. Cool car! We also saw a black Mondial 3.2 convertible on the same highway (closer to the residential area though).

We also chased a silver Mondial QV coupe on the 5 north. Sounded really nice with non-stock exhaust.

Sunday Sept. 14 - 5:30PM'ish in the parking lot of Whole Foods in Pasadena, CA
Red on black Barchetta
1) Driver with pierced ear and wearing black (in honor of Mr. Cash?)
2) Really loud pop/rap music coming from the stock stereo, sounded horrible.
3) While walking by the driver and car exiting the parking lot, I pointed at him, pointed at the easily identifiable Ferrari F1 shirt I was wearing and was duly ignored.

Disappointed.

Boy oh boy! Been away from this spotter's thread for a while, but what I saw today is worth mention.
Red 275 GTB around 6:30pm-ish on PCH at Hawthorne in Torrance. Followed by an old Aston, not sure which perhaps one of the AM V8's, it totally caught me off guard, as I was still drooling at the 275. Man, that thing sounded glorious. I figure they were out for a cruise after today's pre-PV Concours celebrations.

Funniest part is that here I am pretty much flipping out at the stoplight, and I look around and everyone is just calm and ho-hum like nothing ever happen. Maybe I'm the one with the problems? Nah.

I think the red NSX you saw is the one from around my neighborhood. Ther owner doesn't appear to be part of the local So Cal NSX group. I've ran into him several times, and he does not appear to be interested to associate with others.

Not a Ferrari, but I followed a red NSX on Irvine Blvd/Trabucco around 8:45pm tonight on my way home from an orchestra rehearsal. The exhaust wasnt stock...thats for sure...and it looked like an older generation NSX. Anyone know who it was?

Not F - but saw a Murci (black) on the 22 going West yesterday at about 5:15pm. The car was very pretty, great sound. But the owner had put on a rear wing - ruined it for me. Why spend $300K on a car and put a wing on it?

I was on the 134 headed for Pasadena when a black 550 blew by me. It sounded great, I wonder what kind of exhaust it had.

making up for lost time...

Last Friday, 9:00am Newport Blvd:

- 360 spyder red getting on 55 North
- 308GTS (looked like candy apple red metallic, custom paint) turning on 17th
- 355 spyder PCH north (before Newport Blvd)

This past Wednesday, for about 5 minuts, saw a guy in shorts pull into the BMW dealer on PCH in Newport with a black 512M. Then got in and sped off (sounded nice)

silver 360 on laguna canyon road this morning around 7:15am while on my way to Crystal Cove.

Great turnout of Ferraris at Crystal Cove this morning too...2 575s, 360/360 spyder, testarossa, 512 boxer, Dom's 308 GT4, and probably a few more I missed. The brand new rolls royce showed up at the end as welll. It was too big and boxy for my tastes though...almost as tall as my minivan.

Saw a new 360 convertible in Newport Beach tonight. Shoot, syder is Italian. I see cars as an American.

I was behind him in my wife's A-4. Crap. He pulled into a gated garagage and I parked the dog 200 feet to go into a bar (Blue Whale, I think). Nice silver 360. I am happy for the new owner.

Thanks Jordan, I will try to show up in some of the local events. It will be so much fun to see lots of my dream cars.

Yes, Brian. I saw the info on the Laguna Hills High School show. Unfortunately, I had plans with family already this Saturday. I might just be able to squeeze in a quick drive in the early Saturday morning. Thanks for the invitation though.

Hey Simon, welcome to the board. Gorgeous Lambo as well! You really should bring it out to some of our events...It would be nice to have some older Lamborghini presence there!

Anyway, I was bored so I took a nice coastal drive today. Took the Laguna Canyon Highway (133) to PCH and then just cruised up and down that for a while.

It was only about 10-11am but I still saw a nice new Lotus Esprit, a silver 360 spider parked on PCH at Laguna Beach, and a black 456!
