Hi
I am looking at some Diamond Audio HEX600s 6.5 inch speakers for the front of my Mondial T. I have been told these are really good, Anyone got any views on these?

Thanks
Steve

I'm deathly afraid to pull the doors apart to replace the speakrs (in fear of not being able to put them back on). But if someone has good instructions, I may attempt.

My stereo in teh car may have been state of the art in '92, but is a POS now.

Is it easy to access the front speakers?

Byron, I just want a decent system without having to spend thousands of dollars on a system. I'm almost thinking that the door speakers + the tweeters built into the dash of the T can be replaced with good speakers + a decent power amp.

I want to stick with my iPod, as I like the simplicity it entails (and allows me to take it between cars when needed). There are a few head units I've looked at, but if I go with external power source, the head unit power rating isn't that important.

Hi
What size are the speakers in the front of the Mondial T? What will you be going for, manufacturer etc?

I have an Alpine unit in my car that allows me to play mp3's... I've been really pleased with it. I have MB Quart speakers 6.5" in my door panels, tweeters... and a custom 6" box built with factory finish.

I'm sure most people will recommend high end speakers as Focal, Paris Audio and high end amps as McIntosh, but I think the Alpine/MB Quart combination sounds great. It would be even better in a Mondial with the extra speakers!

Just about anywhere can do the work for you (as long as they've worked with Ferrari's before)... I would consider adding Dynamat (door padding) to deaden the rattling sounds from the doors. You might consider an amplifier hidden in your trunk as well.

I'll ask around if you are interested... just let me know.

Byron,

I just want a decent head unit that has an AUX input for my iPod, and good clean sounding speakers without having to butcher or muck up the interior. My last Mondial, the previous owner did this and it really detracted from the car.

Brian,
The guys at Al & Ed's did a custom job for my 348. (The installer at that particular location also had years of experience doing competition stereo work) However, they've since change locations - if you know exactly what you want to have done on your car, let me know and I'll see what I can find for you.

Any recommendations for places that do a good job? I have a hard time thinking going down to Al & Eds, these guys have manuals on removing door panels from a ferrari.
