Spoke with my neighbor who races a Challenge Porsche GT3. He is going to take it to Crystal Cove Saturday morning. He may be joining us for lunch in Pasadena in his TR. I will let Byron know tomorrow.

Heads up on July 19th. There is some kind of health thing, you know, a marathon or something, that is running on the Pacific Coast Highway right in front of Crystal Cove on the 19th. I saw a sign today. Let me check it out and I will let everyone know the traffic status.

More to come tomorrow.

Hey Guys - I am there every Saturday morning. Prime time is 7:00 to 9:00. By 9:00 am most of the cars are pulling out.

Dan Gurney is there on his motorcycle every Saturday, as is Jim Busby (frequently). This past week there was a 250 TDF, 2 weeks ago a 196 SP Dino racing F-car. Too many 550s, 575, 360s, to mention. A number of 250s and 330XXX of the late 50s mid 60s vintage. The Saturday morning Crystal Cove coffee meet is a must. Usually a Boxer or two, a few Daytonas and C4s, etc.

I have other committments for the 19th, but will be there on the 12th (on my way to Pasadena, perhaps).

Jordan and Bart,

I think I can make it on the 19th. Definately a car lovers dream.

In one section, I saw parked together: A fiat spider, next to a lamborghini diablo, next to a detomaso pantera. Just a couple of spots away were some old american Hot rods. What an eclectic grouping.

This is what I learned there today. I talk to everyone. Next Saturday you will understand that I speak to anyone I meet and I meet everyone.

This was the car parking show from Huntington Beach. It was held at a donut shop for years. I have known about the Saturday morning meeting for at least 15 year. Before now, I never had a car, which I could park inside the lot.

It is has been here only 6 or 7 weeks. The Crystal Cove Promenade is very new. Located on the coast between Corona del Mar & Laguna Beach, it overlooks the ocean over Crystal Cove State Park. The strip center is quite large with a parking lot between the buildings and Pacific Coast Highway. Walking around these cars overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the morn was unbelievable. All just wish to talk about cars and all wanted to talk. If one did not enjoy this, then sell your car and walk.

The owners of the center first asked the car owners if it was a club. The answer was no. These are just a much of guys who like to get together and look at each other cars. Therefore, no insurance is required nor cost. A couple of shops, a coffee shop and a bakery, opens early on Saturdays now. They do a land office business.

The only grouping is if you arrive together, otherwise, no spaces can be Saved. It is very random. A 65 Rolls is parked next to a dirty 550. A new Lambo is next to a low rider. I saw a 55 Olds, which mirrored my mothers car in my youth. I think it was wonderful.

We should go there in small groups, me thinks. This is not going away.

Next week is the first meeting of the new organization. I will be there, not in Newport Beach. Oh, well.
