This the story about heat cycle. You can do at least 7 heat cycle before having a tire to hard to perform. I did 8 club events with a Viper before the slicks were so hard that I couldn't stay straight any longer. For $80.00 each, what a bargain !!!We won last year the SCCA GT2 with a Porsche and ONLY with the "used" tires !!! Go beat that. By the way, my LM has theses tires on, as does the McLaren and many of the other races cars here... Roland Players Run Players Run |

When I was racing, I never used the tires more than once, unless it was at a local race where I didn't really care. Once the tires have been heat cycled, they don't stick as well. For track days, I can't think of a better use than someone's used tires. They stick better than street tires, but not as good as a new slick. Who cares, they'll work more than well enough for a track day. Art |

I spoke with Roland about this... seems you can get slicks used for 1 heat cycle for as low as $80/tire! Hmmm...now if only I could get my hands on another set of challenge wheels... |

I found a SUPER deal for the track drivers. Bob Chicks sells theses slicks tires at a very low price and in all sizes. I did a full SCCA season with them and got my tire budget reduce to nothing. Check him out. [email protected] |
