Mike and I showed up at the same time, hence how we ended up parking together. Interesting, as expected 98% old American cars, then Mike and I and our Italian cars, two tricked out Japanese cars (Honda Civic and Nissan Maxima). But pretty much American.

Mike knows a lot about cars and mechanics, so was a pleasure talking with him. The even was near a field, and with the dust/grass blown up by the cars pulling in + the breeze blowing pollen onto the field, rest assured many of us with black cars were constantly wiping them down.

It got hot real fast, and like a dummy I forgot sun screen. So warm that many took refuge in what little shade there was. A lot of the participants obviously do these events a lot, and came prepared with chairs, pop up tents, etc.

I left at 1pm, was a bit warm, and wanted to take a drive by the coast before it became hotter.

It'd be nice to have a bigger Ferrari corral next time. Got a million flyers for coming up car shows (don't know if I'll go)

I'd love to get involved, but I'm limited to Sunday activities, since Saturday is my big work day. I'm always interested in early Sunday drives!

Dr. Adams,
That's a nice collection of cars you have there! I would love to see your Daytona sometime - are you ever interested in doing some local so. cal area drives? I'm in the Irvine area... maybe a few of us should meet up locally in OC sometime for coffee one of these weekends.

Mike, let me know by Thursday if you plan on going. If so, I'll bring my car too.

Funny, it's about 2 blocks from my house too....

Gorgeous Daytona Spyder Dr. Mike! Coupled together with a 330 and a 400 and you have a perfectly rounded collection!

Annual Bel Air pool/jacuzzi party with great friends, good food, and half naked women running around. Its not a crazy party, but, I already made plans and am bringing a guest (might be guests) or else I'd go.

wow, a free engine as a giveaway?
That's awesome! (albeit a chevy 350) :-)

Hmmmm...how do you retrofit a chevy V8 into a ferrari... hmmmm LOL!

This sounds like fun, but unfortunately, I won't be able to make it. I'll be working in SF that morning, then flying down to commute up to Bakersfield for the Buttonwillow event.

Laguna Hills high.....ahhh... I remember playing tennis against them in high school... hehe... I drive by that are all the time going to the 'top of the world' Brian, do you live around there?

Okay, called, here's the info I got:

- 1st year they've done this
- register the day of the show
- $25 fee for cars being displayed
- cheap lunchs, raffles, give aways (grand prize is a rebuilt Chevy 350 - think I'll throw that in the Honda!)

All the money goes to benefit the Football program for the school. Sounds like a Crystal Cove (i.e. classic and hot rods), but could have our own little Ferrari section I suppose.

Since registration takes place day of event, I'll throw in a tentative yes, with a definite yes/no by Thursday next week

No, I'm not affiliated with teh school. Drove by this morning and noticed the banner...

I might be up for it. I would need to know what in detail is going on, times, who is going to be there what the money is being raised for.

Apparently Laguna Hills High School is having a fund raiser and are hosting a car show next Saturday (23rd of August).

Anyone interested in going/displaying your car? I'm thinking of doing it...like Bart says, get people excited on Ferrari.

Let me know if there is interest, I'll get the phone number tonight
