Hi Beth, My '57 Corvette was white/orange, completely stock and looked like the ones in posters you see. It was a fun car, but besides being just a cool car compared to a 348 save your money. If you're looking at the car for an investment then may be I can see it. The '57 I had was equipped with stock shifting gear, which I replaced with Hurst. The engine was a 283 with dual quads. It had a removable top. I really never had any problem with it and it drove fine, but compared to a 348 is really an apples and oranges comparison. However, drive one and see for yourself. I've wanted a Ferrari for quite sometime and to me anything else is not in the same category (well may be the F1 McClaren or the Gallardo), but you get me drift. I just put a Tubi system on mine and it sounds way cool and goes faster at 3500rpm and above. Have a great time with the 348. Regards, Jim | ||

Hi Beth, What a delight for you. I remember the exact feeling when I waited for my Ferrari to arrive. I'm so glad you like to go to the garage just to look at it. That makes me feel more normal! For what it is worth, in the 3+ years I've had it, it still is one of the most exciting things in life. Just knowing I will get to drive it later in the day or tomorrow (or soon) gives me a lift & a smile on my face. That is why my license is ADRENLN. (Wa State) I'll always be grateful to my son Robert for encouraging me to buy it & threatening to get his before I got mine!! You will have many years of unbelieveable joy with this. Well, the story is too long to post all the gory details. Suffice to say that I got mine the difficult way going through the import/conversion process. Multiple obstacles along the way. I drive my GTS once or twice in a 2 week stretch on average. 3k mi. peryear in 2 1/2 yrs. of ownership. I consider your (and my own) pride of ownership a very healthy reward for accomplishing a life's dream/goal/vision through tenacious work ethic. I also believe that acheiving one goal can further one to raise "the bar" for oneself. Owning an Italian Exotic was a goal that has sustained me through making many tough choices in life. Delaying gratification is difficult for many, but for me at age 30 to finally be able to buy a 355-Priceless! Be ready to wear out those hinges on your garage door. You have "il passione". There is no cure. | ||

Beth, sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread, but to answer DES.... DES, no it has not come yet. The shipper had a peoblem with his truck (along with other delays). He is scheduled to pick it up on Sunday in Salt Lake and deliver it to my house on Monday. I was hoping for an earlier delivery. I did test drive it. I flew to SLC in late July and did a test drive. Then I had a PPI done on it then the dealer did a 30k engine out service that took 2.5 weeks. Then the shipper had the delays, so here we are. Below I was referring to the fact that it should come either the day before (Monday) or on my birthday (Tuesday) so it becomes quite a birthday present. I will post some pics of the delivery and the car. I'm pretty excited also. Sorry again Beth for jacking the thread. | ||

Hey Beth, Your car looks pristine. Come to my house we'll lower it an inch. Watch your first drives...I guarantee you will scrape your nose. You will need to angle in on every driveway even at stock road height. Believe it or not you bought an economy car. It will get 26 mpg on the freeway! If you do not drive this car often I would leave your battery cover off and buy yourself a schmacher trickle charger. It is automatic and you can leave it hooked up when not being driven. | ||

In my collection in those cases was over 1,000 1:400 models. It's been trimmed back to about 650 (to make room for models more near and dear to me), but even with a near 50% reduction, you'd never know it. The cases are still near capacity. I have a few dozen 1:200, plus a handful of 1:100 models. | ||

Finally!!!! My 348 has shipped! It will be here on Tuesday. The wait is almost over! I don't think I will be able to sleep till then. Every second that goes by, it is getting closer to me.
