Hey Byron -

TY Enzo means Thank You Enzo. :-)

Just got back from the mechanic. Decided to go ahead and do the major service now and also the clutch. Should take about a week.

Jerry, GREAT car!!! congrats! I'm new to F-Chat but have found it to be a great resource with a bunch of really knowledgable (and nice) people. When you're back on the road you should go to Crystal Cove. Congratulations again on the car!

Jerry,
Sometimes these messages don't get delivered for some reason. Do you mind resending by email? I may be reached at [email protected]

Btw, if it's just clutch work, you should be done by next weekend w/o any problems. If it gets to be somewhat cost prohibitive after your quote on monday, let me know. I may have a few alternatives for you.

Never done something like that before, but it sounds like fun! I'm taking my car to Larry on Monday, so I am not sure what it all needs - May or not be ready for the drive. I sent you a message also byron. :-)

Jerry,
That's an awesome color. Love it!
I'd love to meet you sometime - join us on the next drive on 10/12... you can caravan with me from Irvine.

Btw... from the background of your pics, I'm going to guess that you live in the Quail Hill area? :-)

Here are the pics of the newly delivered car - The vette is not mine, but it's funny because my license plate is 4 aces with a queen and my friend's is 4 aces with a jack. :-)

Thanks Byron-

Glad to hear I'm not alone! My boss owns a Pantera, so I chat with him quite a bit as he knows what I'm going through. Nice to hear you are in the same city also. :-) Hope to meet you soon!

Jerry,
I live in Irvine as well... I was a new owner once before too... :-) If you need any help at all, don't hesitate to ask. I'm usually around on the weekends.

See if you can get Larry to get your clutch sorted out by next weekend. We have a big drive - it would be a great way to break it in!

Btw, just to add, there is a great support network of ferrari owners/enthusiasts on FChat as well as in So Cal. We are always helping each other out, so don't ever feel like you're alone on this. There's nothing that can't be fixed with a little patience (not to mention blood and sweat! LOL)

Welcome to ownership. Enjoy it!

Btw, I would also recommend Costantino at FX Performance or Carl at Blackhorse. There are a number of great mechanics in the area...

Thanks Guys-

yes Larry comes highly recommended - I am bringing the car to him Monday morning - Just trying to figure out if I should drive on the shot clutch or spring for a flat bed (I have no idea what the cost would be from Irvine to Orange). Once I get the car up to par, I am hoping to meet you all at some events!

I've been there before, didn't have my first car checked out. Just email or post questions and we'll all help out.

First things first - get a good mechanic. That is often the first line of big brothers you should have. I recommend Larry at Ferrari Tech.

dude, jerry, take a deep breath.

congrats on the car, by the way. the first one i ever drove was a 328gts--holds a special place in my heart. it sounds awsome and is just a wonderful machine.

just post about your troubles and i'm sure there'll be more than plenty who could lend a helping hand. good luck.

Having just bought my first F-car, I think I have made some mistakes. Definitely should have had the car checked out better. In any event, I need a mentor in southern california. I don't know where to start in getting parts, fixing the car up, etc. Anyone feel up to being a big brother? lol I can use all the help I can get - I am feeling a bit overwhelmed in the first few days of ownership. Thought I was gonna puke yesterday just adjusting to it all!

*sigh*

anyone willing to help a newbie out?
