Hi Jordan, I received all my degrees from UCI. 11 years total :-)
I miss living in Irvine.

Dr. Ken, it was indeed held in Irvine at the Meadows/Verizon ampitheatre. Have you been out here before?

Jordon
That car and mine were the only GT40s that finished the Pebble tour.

James, thanks for all the infotmation on the GT40s...I cant wait to read through all of it! I almost hate to admit it, but the red "J11" was getting so much more attention than the real GT40 from the Peterson. I actually heard a person from the Peterson say they drove the GT40 all the way down from the museum...A good 45-50 miles :-) I was smiling after I heard that! Especially after seeing many garage queens at the show basically with delivery miles.

Hi, guys ... it was wonderful having you come out to the concours. Jordan did a great job of capturing the amazing cars with his photos, so here are several "snaps" I took of the general Ferrari gathering:

No winning for us this year ... too many fantastic cars! I've got a new checklist of things to address ... it's a never ending challenge.

Thanks for the info James.

So a case of mistaken identity in those news clippings I saw (go figure, the press being incorrect?) So of the chassis' J9 through J12, were they assembled from replacement or unused chassis' and not official production cars? From one of the sites I posted, J10 seems to have quite a history, is that just an incorrect chassis number?

Thanks for the info.

Lie no. Wrong yes. Search this site MK-IV and http://www.GT40s.com. If you want to see apic of J6 click on my profile. J6 is sitting in my garage.
J6 finished 4OA driven by Donohue/McLaren.
J1&J2 have been destroyed. J3-J8 still exist. J5 is the Foyt/Gurney winner. It is in the Henry Ford Museam.
The sites you cited are wrong.

James,

Here's two of those pages, mind you not official registries, but ones I looked at as a casual observer nonetheless.

James,

Well now you have got me interested in the true history. "J6 did not win LeMans in 67 nor was it driven by Foyt/Gurney" How is this so. Like I said I don't know much, if anything, about GT-40's. I am only stating what was presented on the display board at the event for this car (newspaper reprints, photos, etc.) and what I saw on a couple websites I looked at to see the history of that car and it's "siblings". Is it all a lie????????? Nooooooooo it can't be :-)

The great thing about America is that you can believe what you want to. That said J6 did not win LeMans in 67 nor was it driven by Foyt/Gurney. There is no "J11" It is a pure replica.

I do not believe it was a replica (if knockoff is what you mean by replica). I don't know much about the GT 40's but this one was serial J-11 of 12, with J-6 winning the 1967 24 hours of Le Mans with Dan Gurney and A. J. Foyt. Please correct me if I am wrong. It did not win an award though, just was displayed on the drive around.

The wildest photo is the replica MK-IV getting a trophy. Very Sad.
The blue MKIII GT 40 is real and a very nice car owned by the Peterson Museam and used regularily.

wow, that Bentley Continental is a sexy lookin car, and that blue GT40 looks amazing! The F40 picture is real nice, but I think the one that takes the cake is the red 250 GT. What a beautiful car. Great pictures Kevin!

Daily Driver? A vintage Ferrari out amoungst the parking lot masses? Yes, it is true. And look at the mileage, yes, that is 79771 miles. The way it should be driven....

Jordan, Thank you for sharing your photos. Stunning shots and some familiar cars. (I also enjoyed seeing those Woody's in the background). Where in Newport is this event held?

What is that Purple '60s V-12 Ferrari with the racing #4 decal?????? That is the most beautiful thing!!!

Second to that I like the green '60s Aston Martin DB? and the red '60s Ferrari convertible in front of the judging booths. Unbelievable shots!!!

82 more pictures to be exact :-)

Anyway, it was a great show! Saw a few priceless Ferraris for the first time and there were plenty of other exotic cars that were just as interesting. It was great being in the company of Sunny, Jay, Kevin, Dennis, Dom, Bill, and James! Our very own James Selevan took 3rd in his class with his daily driving 512 Boxer...Congradulations!

Thanks again to all that came! Lots of fun! Good luck loading all the pictures now :-)
