Jens, sorry to hear about your car troubles; I hope they get fixed soon without emptying your bank account. Please pencil me in too for June 19-22 for the moment. I hope you can make it with your car intact and many others can make it! |

Well that would be a great idea. I think I'll try to stay 2 days, but that depends on my budget at that time But if it's possible to do 2 race-tracks on 2 days that would be super. The date seems good to me. Anyway, I'll certainly be there on the Nordschleife so count me in Once again thanks Jens, for sorting it all out. |

Please tell us more......! Sounds interesting too! We could book some hotels in Maastricht and plan some nice routes through Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. The only problem is that you have to be sure about the amount of people that will join the meeting otherwise it could get very expensive. We could also make a combinationplan. 1 day Nurnburgring and 1 day Zolder. The third day we could plan a nice route through the countryside and/or let people be free to do what they want. It is only a 1,5 hr drive from one circuit to the other. just my 0,02 . Ton |

Jens, 19-22th of June sounds great! It will be fantastic to go on a tour with 20-25 Ferrari's. Especially through the center of Bonn. Maybe the police wants to escort us through Bonn untill we reach the autobahn. That way we can keep the group together. How about major events in Bonn in that weekend? Will the hotels still be available? Ton |

Hello everybody, Just called the Nürburgring management. They said that the definite times wont be set till late February. Quite annoying for everybody but nevetheless I did some research on their Site about great events next year. Here are the results: 5th to 8th June: Big Rock festival. Nordschleife is definitely closed because they use it as parking strip. 12th to 15th June: Oldtimer event where most probably the Nordschleife will be used as well so this weekend is gone too. 26th to 29th June: European Formula one Grand Prix. Should be very crowded and the Nordschleife is most probably closed again for parking reasons Now comes May: 28th to 30th May: 24 hour race at the Nordschleife so this weekend is out of race as well. As you might have seen there are just two weekends left around late May and June where there are no events: 22th to 25th of May: Here there will be the German Touring Master Championship at the Grand Prix track. Might be possible that the Nordschleife is open but you can count on it that it will be very crowded 19th to 22th of June: Here there are absolutely no events planned so I see no reason why the ttrack should be closed or access will be restricted. After all I think we should pick the time: 19th to 22th of June 2003 as a provisional date because so far it is most probably the time where most track time will be available and it wont be too crowded. Nevetheless I cant promise anything since the definite timetable from the management isnt set. An Alternative would be to rent either the whole Nordschleife or the Grand Prix track but as I mentioned before I think that this is plainly too expensive (Around 12000 Euro per day!)because our group will be too small. Ton, Of course girlfriends and wifes are highly welcomed. If you inform me early and there are some women attending I will work on a programm for them if they dont like to attend the whole car stuff Thanks to Bart ("Sharky") I have now an Excel file with all the european members I will mail when everything is set. There are around 100 but a lot have just posted one time and some dont have a mail account. I hope we will gather around 20-25 Ferraris and perhaps 40-50 people. This would be a good number for the first meeting, I guess. Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller

Jens, No problem! I hope that we can set a different date soon. I am very much looking forward to the meeting. My wife wants to join me to the meeting as well. Are there any more partners joining in? How many people are coming? Thanks again for all the effort and energy that you are spending in the organisation of this event. Looking forward to the update. Ton |

Amar and Ton, I am already planning the event. Problem is the the time. The opening times 2003 for the Nordschleife arent online at www.nuerburgring.de I am a little fed up with their slow update of the page though, so I will call them directly tomorrow (Promised! Will post the results as I know them!). Ton, Bad news, I guess! What is for sure that from 6th to 8th there will be a big Rock festival at the ring where the Nordschleife is used as a parking strip. This date is definitely out of race. I am really sorry and hope you can shift your vacation. Got to know this about a week ago and since then I am a little anxious by setting dates before I cant get an official time plan from the Nürburgring. I know that all of you want the event to be fixed at a certain date and I promise that this date will be set till end of January. Nevertheless I just have to wait for the timetables of the Ring to know when we can get as much free practise time on the track. After all you dont want to travel the whole way just for driving one or two hours per day, do you? Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller P.S. Please post or mail if you have any questions! |
