Jens,

Friday or saturday would be good for me during the day (I have an appointment on friday and saturday evening). I am really looking forward to meeting you and seeing your car.
Let's indeed decide upon the weather forecast.

Ton,

A friend of mine advised me not to rev the car too hard when driving in city traffic because the police might notice that the car is too loud due to test pipes and the Tubi plus the K&N.
When letting loose the engine noise should be slightly above 100dB.
Lets wait and see once again.
Perhaps we could meet somewhere around next friday or the weekend? This should be fine with me. Propose we decide upon weather forecast! Sunshine should be just good enough to meet :-)

To be honest I am not sure if the sound of my car is road legal, but it is fantastic!

Ton,

Whow you have got a Tubi with your car?
Will finally pick up my 348 with the Tubi and the test pipes in two days!
How about meeting this or next week to give the cars a good spin and have some lunch and drinks?
Keen to know which engine screams better with the Tubi :-)

Just got home, wooooooooow this car is great(fast):-):-), just drove 300km with it today. I'll post some pictures tomorow it's too dark now.I got used to the F1 gearbox after 150 km, now i can smoothly shift. Sport mode is crazy this is realy fast shifting. The flexibility of the engine is also great, 2000 rpm's in 6th gear is no problem.
Sound is not so great, but the Tubi will arrive soon, i hope.

Guy i'll call you.

Bart,

How is the 360 going?
Must be a great feeling, just like Ton explained with his new 328 GTS!

Have you allready driven by the nieuwstraat in Mol?
If you do, give the car some 'revs' so i can hear the great sound of it! (if i'm home of course!)

What are your plans for tomorrow?
Maybe we can meet, i really would like to see your new beauty!!!
You name a place and i'll be there!
Check your mail, i'll post you my GSM-number and adress.

I also wish you a lot of Ferrari-kms!

Bart,

Welcome to the fantastic world of the 360 today and have a great day with her! Have you planned any interesting driving routes this weekend in Belgium or neighbouring countries? And longer trips when the weather improves?

Best wishes and I'm sure this is the beginning of a long love affair...

Bart,

Where are you gonna sleep, have you allready booked a hotel?
I also would like to stay for the whole weekend but i doubt that my girlfriend wants to go with me to see Ferraris all weekend! She doesn't really like sportscars! WOMEN, who understands them!

But anyway, if i can't make it for the whole weekend, i will sure meet you there!

If the 360 is ready, give me a sign, so maybe we can meet! If you would like that!
Anyway, i guess i will hear you pass by my house with the tubi installed!

BTW is the Porsche allready sold?
Not that i'm interested, my next car will definately be a Ferrari!
But first the stock market has to go up again!!
Not for the first two years i think!

Bart Bosmans,

It would be great to drive together to the Ferrari Days starting in Mol!

Which day(s) will you go?
Sundaymornings there is very little traffic so you can give the 360 a 'blast'! But remember i 'only' have a screaming little 2 litre engine!
BTW i don't race other cars! Not on the streets that is!

I only hope the weather is a bit better than last year, so i can drive top down and i can hear the howl off your 360 (with tubi?) even better and louder!!

See you guys later!

Guy, thanks a lot for the offer.
I'm not sure if I can find the time to visit the Ferrari Days @ Spa, but I will certainly be at the F-chat meeting on the Nurburgring.

I've got my 20th birthday on the 25th of April, so maybe I can come the 26th but I'm not sure (depends on how the party turns out :-)).

Black and red is a great combination, to bad it's an Honda :-) Just kiddin'
It probably looks like (http://www.s2ki.com/ezimagecatalog/catalogue/variations/36039-640x480.jpg) this one right

Guy,

The Ferrari mechanic is an independend person with a well known reputation at the Dutch and Belgian Ferrari scenes. He is very busy and usually you have to wait a while before you can bring your car. I will send you his businesscard by email.
BTW I recently drove my neighbours S2000. I was impressed by the power that the v-tec produces at high rpm. Beautiful car, good choice!

I also wish you the best in your search for a GOOD 328!
It sure is not gonna be easy, the only advise i can give is: take your time, don't rush it! I know what i'm talking about!
BTW: who is your Ferrari mechanic, is it an official dealer or an independent (if so, where is it located?) It's good if you know a mechanic personal!

Do you still live in Mol?
If so, i really would like to meet you when the 360 is delivered!!
BTW: i really like my S2000, i've no regrets!

Hopefully you can make it to the F-chat days, so I'll see it in person.

Ton, to bad to hear the PPI turned out to be negative. Hopefully you'll still find the car of your dreams. But with the help of Bart and Jens, and their dealers I'm sure you'll find what your looking for.

good luck on your quest for your perfect 328 :-)

Jens, to bad about the costs of the repair, but it's better then having to replace the complete transmission. Must be great to get the 30 extra hp aswell after the mods etc. Can't wait to hear your new test pipes and tubi on the F-chat meeting :-)

Really sad story! What exactly was wrong with the car?
You might know already I am pretty sure but you can also take a look at www.mobile.de
This is the biggest homepage of used cars here in Germany.
Additionally I can offer you to ask my official Ferrari dealer here in Cologne whether they know or have a good 328 to offer. They have quite a good network for such things.
Perhaps you just tell me what exactly you are searching for (Model year, max km, maximum price, colour etc.) and I could look around, too.
If you dont want to mention these things via this thread just shoot me a mail.
Would really like to help you with the search!

Unfortunately I have bad news! The car did not pass the PPI! The examination revealed some very nasty aspects of the car. I decided not even to testdrive it. It is very disappointing but on the other hand I am very happy that I did not buy this one. So I am back at the start again. Does anyone know a good 328 for sale?

There is two more 328's on my list but the first one is close to Berlin and the other one is in Hamburg. Both cars are more than 6 hrs of driving away. I need to make a good plan for this trip. After searching now for such a long time I am getting a little bit impatient.

sad but happy

Extra HP is somewhere around 8-10 and much better sound, advantage of the grill is better cooling, rear view(little holes) when you have to park and some contrast on the back of the car.The golf bag fits behind the seats except for my driver.

Ton,

I am not sure that the thing with the 30hp is really true. The guys in the US dynoed the car after installing the components and said it had a power output of 330hp. But as far as I know the dynoing is not so easy after all. You need stable climatic conditions etc.etc
To be honest it is easier to spend all the money for these thing with believing what they said :-)

Indeed there is a Tubi for the 328 cat and non cat version but the Tubi general catalogue quotes the production years of the 328 till 1988 only. Yours is going to be a 89 model, right? Dont know whether the exhaust doesnt fit for the 89 models anymore!
Its best you ask Manu from Scuderiasystems about these things. He is a frequent FChat member and sells Tubi in the UK. He is extremly friendly and knows virtually everything about exhausts etc. Also he has definitely the best prices for Tubi in whole Europe. After calling literally dozens of Tubi dealers I know...([email protected])
The Tubi alone shouldnt give you that much power gain (Max 10hp, I would say!) but if you decat the car with test pipes and install a Tubi you significantly reduce backpressure hence increasing power. The K&N air filters allow the engine to "breath" better so another power again!
With the three measures I hope to increase power at least that much that it is noticeable whilst driving.
Nevertheless I just heard a 348 with test pipes and Tubi and it sounds really drasticaslly different to stock. Much more of that mean racecar sound (A little bit like a F1 car.:-) OK I said a little bit)

Con saluti cordialissimi,
Jens Haller

P.S. By the way Düsseldorf is just around the corner. If you actually buy the car perhaps you just drop by in Bonn to let me admire your car or we meet somewhere in Düsseldorf or Cologne to have lunch or a beer? Would be great IMO!

Jens,

The car is located in a small town near Dusseldorf. 30 hp more sounds good! Are there also Tubi sportexhausts for a 328?

Bart,

Black is indeed a very difficult colour to keep clean. How much more hp does the Tubi style exhaust give you? Or is it only the sound that changes?

I only just saw your email and also this thread - again congratulations!!! It is indeed a nice colour combination and the 360 is an unbelievable car (in my objective opinion)! During my recent holiday I drove it closer to the limit than ever before including in rain and snow in Belgium and it's poise and control and handling were mind-boggling. I hope you have many moments of pleasure with the 360 and I look forward to seeing you at Spa and Nurburgring.

The decision was thaken after i had to wash my porsche(black) before having a short drive with a potential buyer. We have too much rain in Belgium, silver is soooo much easier to keep clean and the color combo is beautifull.

Ton and Bart,

We will definitely see in april! Will try to make it for at least one day!
Posted something new about my car at the tech section today. Will be on the road again in roughly one week or so with a repaired transmission. Repair costs are 2700 Euro altogether. Not cheap but far better than what I expected and feared it would be.
Will install Tubi test pipes, the Tubi Sport exhaust and some K&N air filters with the gearbox repair. Some 348 guys in the US say that these three measures would add around 30hp.
Really excited whether this is true or not!
More horsepowers wouldnt be bad not to mention the mean and agressive new Tubi sound.
Lets wait and see once more!

As a matter of fact I hope to see the two of you too at the Spa Ferrari Days in april. Just two more nights before the PPI.
I agree with Jens that the silver/blue combination is far better than silver/black. What gave you the final input to make the decision in silver? I followed the thread on the general board with great interest. There were many pro's and con's.

BTW I talked to the secretary general of the Club Ferrari Belgio today. He will send me some papers and the agenda for 2003. I heard from my Ferrari mechanic (who ownes a 328 and a 512) that the belgian Ferrari club is a lot of fun. I will send you a copy of the agenda by email.
