I got to shake hands with the Pope once, and that was pretty easy to organise. Michael Schumacher? No way!!

That would probably boost the popularity of the first Fchat track day enormously.

Just the thought of it already makes me smile. :-)

Amar,

Will be checking out the hotel somewhere the next weeks. Havent seen the rooms yet but am sure they are OK
Well with Michael Schumacher I am not so sure! At least I dont know anybody who knows him :-(
Would be really nice to meet him in off course but am assuming he will be quite busy when home in Germany...

Hi Jens,

The hotel sounds great and looks good on the website - let's go for it!

By the way, since the F1 circus comes to Nurburgring the following weekend and Michael Schumacher could well be in the area the weekend of June 21-22, why don't we see if there's a way to meet up with him???!!! Anybody know somebody who knows somebody.....?

Jens, if all else fails, I could speak to my "friends" in Maranello but wouldn't necessarily hold out too much.

A presto,
Amar

Ton,

Forgot to mention that last time:
Can you remember the chapel just in front of Gstehaus Petersberg?
This was the church where Michael Schumacher married. Afterwards he did the marriage party in the hotel!
Perhaps a good omen for a Ferrari meeting?
:-)

Ton,

If you're trying amazon.com and that's not working, give www.amazon.co.uk a go - I have never had a problem there.

Cheers. MARK

Ton,

Third from top! Like how both cars are parked in line.
Never had any problems with Amazon. In the worst case you can also order it at your local bookstore. Shouldnt be more expensive normally.

Third one from top or bottom?

It's actually not easy to order the book through amazon. I tried it several times yesterday but everytime the shipping address is rejected.

Ton,

Its called:
Original Ferrari V8
from Keith Bluemel
What surprises me most is the fact that I couldnfind the exact detailed power stats for the car like torque etc. you mentioned. The book fully concentrates on different changes throughout model life of each Ferrari V8 up to the F40 (Yes, the book is quiet old!). Has detailed photos and different categories like engine, suspension, interieur, exterieur, transmission etc.
You can easily order the book online via Amazon.
Hoped that helped!

Con saluti cordialissimi,
Jens Haller

P.S. Thanks for the photos! The third one you posted on this thread is now my desktop picture :-)

Amar,

I am indeed glad to have the 348 back! Its kind of a new car though since the change to Tubi exhaust and pipes plus the K&N was made (See thread in the General Discussion section). Hope we still have some opportunities in the near future to do some photos of each other or together :-)

Guy,

Would be nice if you could make it at saturday. Will be glad to be your copilot at the track or vice versa.

Ton, Jens,

It looks like you both had a nice day of F-driving!
Ton, are you allready used to the car now?
You did a lot of kms for the first week of ownership i guess!
I hope one day i can join you guys on such day with my own 'prancing horse'-car!

Jens, for that F-chat meeting, i will probably come to the 'ring' on saturday.
I don't think i can make it on thursday and friday! My holiday starts 3 weeks later (can't move it:-( ) and it's always very bussy those days at work to get everything done!
So i'll try to make it on saturday only, but i don't promise anything!

Maybe you can co-pilot me on a few laps because i heard the 'ring' has a lot of blind corners!?
I guess that you know the circuit?
That is of course if the weather is fine, because the S2000 has VERY tricky handling in the wet!!

Hi Jens and Ton,

Looks like you had a great day out and a fun chance to enjoy your cars! Ton, what a beautiful and classic shape the 328 is - congratulations again!!

And it's great to see your 348 back on the road Jens - I bet you are a happy man having it back after all the recent tribulations. And nice to see you in the photo too, it reminds me again how ridiculous I felt after realising we had not taken a single photo of each other in Maranello in February even when there were some truly exotic things in the background! Time to buy a digital camera, eh Jens?

Makes me look forward all the more to our date with Nurburgring in June and even earlier if I can nip across the Channel one weekend...

A presto,
Amar

Jens,

Don't worry about the way that you look! Everybody will be distracted by the cars anyway. Although I don't think that it is a bad picture.

I understand that you have worried a little bit about the sound of your car. But it is fantastic! Just keep the revs low in the populated area of Bonn and you will be alright.
It was so much fun to hear your car in the tunnel and on the autobahn. I think that you own a superclean impressive 348.

I am looking forward to the next meeting.

Ton,

Great pictures! Normally I should have worked but it was a day full of fun!
Especially the last drive with the cars on the A555 was great fun.
Your car really sounds fantastic, very aggressive when overtaking me.
Really looking forward to another day with nice weather either here in Germany or in Belgium!
You have got a pretty nice car there and I am sure that you will never look back...

Con saluti cordialissimi,
Jens Haller

P.S. Did your mother like the drive you gave her in the 328?

Today Jens and I met in Bonn. Luckily the weather was good (not the expected rain). We checked out the beautiful hotels for the big Fchat meeting in June and gave our cars a good spin around Bonn. We even drove the famous A555 autobahn (long, straight and without speedlimit). It was a fun day! Here are some pictures.
Bart, it was too bad that you could not join us. We are looking forward to meet you with your 360 next time too.
