thx jens. they passed me on to their importer. basically if you haven't owned the car for 6 months prior your immigration, you will be charged 12pct of the price you paid. however, given that the price of LHD 98 m's are around 50k here, and the price quoted widely in switzerland for the same car is about chfr 140k (about 66k), it still seems like a better deal to bring it with you..... |

I would consider it very unprofessional if they are not willing to help you. Sometimes it helpes if you mention that you will keep the car for maintenance at their garage (even when it is not true). regards, Ton |

ton, the problem i found when i imported a porsche into switzerland a few years ago, was that the porsche dealer was not very willing to give me the easy version of the list of things to do. which is why i was hoping to get somebody to tell me how they did it, who to call etc.. |

Ross, Call a Swiss Ferraridealer. Usually they help. Also call the swiss customs. ( I did the same thing when I imported my car to Belgium) Ton |

given that swiss prices are somewhat higher than those in germany or elsewhere in europe, i was thinking about importing a 456 instead. i know that there are usually a lot of things they require be changed before they allow the car in, but is it still so bad with these very modern cars? does anybody know anything about the process for ferraris? what is the duty? |
