Peter Island in BVI supposed to be very nice, also Cap Jaluca in Anguilla, otherwise the new hotel called "The House" in Barbados is very good and has Daphne's restaurant for some top notch food. Sorry to go off topic everyone. |

Jalousie Hilton was our first choice but was booked solid in busy December, we ended up at Royal St Lucian. Thanks for the weather outlook - we might go to the Caribbean in May and are thinking of BVI, Anguilla, Grenada or Tobago... not being big experts on the islands it might be just a shot in the dark!

ah, we were at the Jalousie Hilton which is further south and quieter, you must have been at Windjammer or somewhere near there. the weather is good at the moment, will get hotter I think until about July when the rainy season starts aug-oct, this is the same in Barbados. |

Craig, I was curious because our only time there was one December and the place (we were in the north) was swamped by US cruise ships and other tourists and it wasn't exactly quiet. Do you know how the weather in the Caribbean is in the summer... does it rain for instance?

Amar, St Lucia was great, fairly quiet last 2 weeks but will be getting busier now as kids off school etc, great place I thought. Normally go to Barbados but this made a nice change. |

Amar, Not such a bad idea after all. Hop over to London for a pint of beer Last time I was in London with my parents and we stayed at the Connaught hotel. Liked it very much, very british with all these tea time events Before I go there again I better take a look at my bank account, though. Glad my parents paid everything so I can invest my money in new clutches and transmissions.. Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |

Hello Craig, lucky you! Guess you were vacationing in St Lucia? Were there many tourists this time of the year? Hello John, small world - we've probably passed each other on the street then. Did you see the BBC programme, "Trust," couple of months ago shot around Thomas More Square? Some of the riverside home scenes were shot in my flat and in fact I can see St Katherine's Dock and the Square from my flat. We should definitely meet up soon. My next week or two are busy but hopefully later in April? Anybody else out there interested? Cheers, Amar |

Hi Amar. Yes we are (almost) neighbours. I'm 10 minutes walk walk downstream from you near Cherry Garden pier. I walk through Shad Thames each morning on my way to work (Thomas More Square by St. Katharine's Docks). Yes. I avoid the tunnel as well whenever I can. I'm okay with the bollards (being 8"-9" narrower) but very scared of the nutters you find down there coming in the opposite direction half way into your lane! Snap. Love the city airport road. Long, safe straights joined up by roundabouts. Can really open up along there, although a couple of months ago I got a real lesson about the performance gap between a 328 and 360: Coming off one of the roundabouts, the car infront of me pulled into the slow lane to let me pass. I go flat in 2nd, then flat in 3rd, zoom past, and then ..... look in my rear view mirror to see a a grey 360 flashing me to get out of his way because I was going too slow :-). I pull over ahead of the car I'd just past, and the 360 just takes off making me look like I'm standing still!! And what a fantastic noise :-) :-). Count me in on and get-together drive we can arrange. As long as you don't mind the "slow" 328 holding you up ;-). Best wishes, John |

Craig, Might have seen your 348 GTS when my office was in Mayfair; saw one at Tower Hill Sunday, was that you by chance? I rarely drive in central London during the week or the weekend for that matter, mostly head straight out of town. April 27th sounds intriguing, will email you... Ciao, Amar |

Wolfgang, enjoy the traffic in Covent Garden which moves even slower than the 10 mph average speed of traffic in London... but, yeah, would be nice to have a drink when you're here in April! |

Hi John, Yea we must be neighbours! I live in Shad Thames (the cobbled road) and you probably pass my way to Tower Bridge. Where do you live? Not sure we have seen each other - I rarely go through Rotherhithe Tunnel 'cause the 360 is a bit wide to pass comfortably through the bollards. I do drive through the Limehouse Link and the divided road towards Excel and also the divided road parallel to the City Airport. These are the only roads I know near us that you can sometimes have fun driving on. Other than these, the best drives are generally outside the M25, for instance in the Gatwick environs and Herts as others have mentioned. And of course France isn't that far away and weekends there can be fun in many ways! See you soon hopefully... Amar |
