Hi & good morning Gents,

Yes, the Tubi has been installed on Saturday afternoon.....What a party! 4 F cars in Salvas Garage working & fixing their cars. Thanks a lot to everybody who helped me to install the Tubi.
First impression: Much deeper Tone! But I have do drive the car a few hundred kilometers to blow out the f**** XY material inside the Tubi. You can smell & see fine chrome dust coming out of the Tubi and the sound is getting better & better ....louder & louder. The Tubi worth the money. Looks awesome & sounds amazing!!!!
Sebastian, I brought my digi-cam to the installation and wanted to capture each step....but I forgott the batterys in my store -still loading and forgott to install them B4.
Sorry, sorry I was so excited when I drove to the party. Now NO pics! Anyway, pics are without Sound/Tone. Lets do a soundfile together next time?!

Heiko, I already told you yesterday on the phone...take the 512M if possible. It's the most powerfull Ferrari I ever drove with, you can feel and hear these 12 cylinders more than in any other car in the world. One of the guys down here's got a 512M with a Tubi exhaust...this sound is soooo amazing. I recorded the car some years ago, uploaded it for all you f-chat-fans:

http://www.ferrari355.de/f512m1.rm (! real player !)

The 355 is the MOST beautiful Ferrari in my opinion with the greatest sound...but you'll never feel the power like in a 512M. I love it. And I would buy it if I could.

Hello Gents,

the 512M is definite anamzing car Heiko but for me not a classical Ferrari.
You know I`m in the same jame don`t know what to do/buy.
The reason, I bought my 308QV was to drive a classical Ferrari which I can afford with all the chrome, mini switches and not (like the later one) with plastic FIAT Ritmo parts/switches.
Now, I`m also looking for a V12.
The real deal would be to drive/own a 275 GTB LWB but to be honest who can afford this beautiful car? Not me!
We are all working very hard to realice that our dreams comes true; but this one is (for me) tooooo big. So I decided to buy a Testarossa 91 and not a 512TR. Same as above with the 308QV more classic and of course cheaper than TR or M.
Testarossa Euro: 40.000,- / 45.000,-
512 TR Euro 60.000,- / 75.000,-
512 M Euro: 80.000,- / 110.000,-
To buy a TR or M; I must sell my beloved 308QV.never ever!!! So I made my choice to keep the 308QV (my wife will drive the car in the future) and I`m going for the `91 Testarossa from Engelor another one in the same price range.
Heiko, GO FOR IT !!! Make your dreams come true! Good luckthe yellow one from D?

:-)
If money was no issue I wouldn't buy a 512M neither, but when you needed to choose, I'd do the 512M.

I think that when your looking for a 120.000+ euro car, maintenance shouldn't be that big of a problem aswell. Off course you should always watch your wallet, but IMHO you don't buy a car like that when your "short" on cash.

IMO If you're already considering a 512M or a 355gts, and you're serious thinking about it then you know the prices (including the maintenance) and then I'd go for the 512M.
If you're just looking around, then the 355 is the "cheaper" car, maintenance + the buying.
512M has (once again in my view) more of the Ferrari "spirit".

No offences meant in anyway, just trying to explain my view on this.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Don't know about the driving quality's, but 0-100 are the same (4.6s), the 512M has a higher top 315 vs 292 km/h.
355 is a 6-shifter vs. 512M with a 5-shifter.
V8 vs V12, 375pk vs. 440pk etc.
512M is more exclusive (production of 500 vs. ~1400).
Well that's all I know :-)

It's not just the buying of the car. There is also maintenance.$$$$$
And if money would be no issue I would definitely not buy a 512m.

Just click on the top of the page on Models, you'll see a list with models with prices from dec. 2002, for a little comparison. (you'll see a difference of around 20.000 USD in advantage of the 355)

A list with prices for a 512M (from a Danish site):

60237 512 M 05/1994 6.900 Yellow Black USD 80,500
60407 512 M 01/1995 50.000 Red Black USD 115,900
61167 512 M 02/1995 19.000 Red Black USD 99,900
61164 512 M 04/1995 27.000 Red Black USD 105,900
61165 512 M 04/1995 27.000 Red Black USD 108,900
61171 512 M 04/1995 26.000 Red Black USD 105,900
61169 512 M 02/1996 29.000 Red Black USD 113,500
61166 512 M 03/1996 23.500 Black Tan USD 111,500

Heiko, Definatly go for the 512M.
If money isn't the problem, just do it.

V12, best thing under the hood of a 4RE :-) (no offence to the 8 cyl.)

IMHO, the 355 is "less desirable" then a 512M.
Off course a targa roof is super, but V12 vs. targa, come on :-)

I would say that the 355gts is an affordable car nowadays. But it will be hard to find a nice clean one (as usual). But why would you part from the timeless, beautiful, reliable 328?

Heiko,

The 512m is a much better car when it comes to performance but I think that the 355gts is easier to maintain (AND has the targaroof). Isn't the 512m a lot more expensive then the 355?
