If anyone is interested...I uploaded all pictures from Wolfgang's trip to Bologna on my page. The URL is
http://www.ferrari355.de/board_de/album_cat.php?cat_id=30

The album there will be opened for about 3 days for you as guests. After that time period, I gotta close it again due to traffic limits. Have fun! And thanx again to Wolfgang, my "honour member"

THanks alot for the pictures Wolfgang!
You trip must have been great. Too bad you had a little technical problem but good to hear it was solved rather quickly.
I read about the lamborghini anniversary event in a car magazine, I cant believe you were there! There were so many rare cars, unbelievable.
And the fact that you saw 2 Enzo's on the road, incredibly cool. wow.

Anyway, Good to hear you had a blast!

Actually Wolfgang
i wasn't having fun, i was just driving around during working hours, and i wasn't going that fast
the last ticket i had i got caught doing 135 km/h wich isn't fast, that's just relaxed cruising, but i did get a ticket for 140.
and yes i like to drive in germany, especially at the freeway's that don't have speeding limits

Dirk,

so thats why nobody would like to drive to Belgian! No, no, no just a joke sorry Dirk. But I can`t remember that I have ever been with my Ferrari in Belgian...just wondering why - now I know the reason:-)
500.-Euros just for having fun? No! I`m working too hard to pay so much for a ticket.
Come over to Germany for a drive?!

Wolfgang, Wolfgang,

250 km/h on normal public highways? And you explained us last time why it is so dangerous to drive on a racetrack like the Nordschleife while doing this? Ts, ts, ts...
Just kidding of course! :-)

wow
250 km/h in a convoy
really sweet
word of advice, don't do that on the belgian freeway's
depends on what part of the country you are if the roads are good or bad, and latelly the cops have gotten really happy with placing speeding radars everywhere.
Last year i had 3 tickets paid a total of 500 and my car doesn't go very fast, and this year the prices on speeding tickets went up :-(

Amar,

we love to drive up to the mountains and for example around the sea. We drove the road around the Lago di Garda (6 hours to go around) amazing surrounding with hills and tunnels (for sound check)The route was Bardolino, Garda, Riva and back on the other side over Sirmione to Bardolino. We would like to drive over the Gottard pass but it was still closed - snow!

Wolfgang,

Yes, the Italian highways are the best for driving an Italian fast car! It has always been the most fun and least trouble for me. And Switzerland has usually not been so much fun. But I meant which specific roads (in which places) did you enjoy driving the most? Did you mostly follow the highways or also do the smaller roads often? I'm just researching for our next trip!

Yes, about joining a convoy it sounds much better doing it with people you know and get along with and whose driving you respect, rather than a group of strangers as can be in a club. Thanks for your perspectives.

Ciao,
Amar

Hi Amar,

....which road I enjoy most:
Italy Highway called Stradale. There is of course speed limit but we drove together with so many cars in a row with always around 250 km/h or more (the Lambos). I swore you its true and the line was never broken. Everybody kept right and we did it!!! No police....they are preety coll and laughing and also enjoy the sound!

Switzerland is f**** expensive to drive. Speed limit 120 km/h and 2 gents payed around 450 Euro captured by radar.

Germany the highway was to busy to speed more than 200km/h.

Austria, I don`t know it was raining and we have to slow down.

To drive in a fast convoy:
You should know with whom you drive!!! You know there are different styles of driving and you will see after a few kilometers if its a beginner /amateur or profi. Hard to translate for me....distance to the next-distance to the rear- break-drive not direct behind the next go a bit beside (left/right)to see whats going on 2 cars in front of you. Please see the pic in this thread on the highway...yep it was around 250 km/h my wife shot the pics! With a bit feeling its funny and adrenalin without any risk!!!!!!!!

Hi Wolfgang,

What a fantastic trip it sounds like! And thanks for the photos. Which roads/routes did you enjoy the most?

By the way, fun as it obviously was driving with friends in other exotics, did people sometimes feel constrained driving together? I ask because I haven't yet joined a group trip with the UK owners club and just wondered what are the pros as well as cons of it.

See you at Nurburgring!

Dirk,

in my opinion and experience (over several years and not only the last week!) the Lambo drivers are more tolerant and open to every body.
For example let me tell you a true story happened last year some where in Italy:
A trip from over 30 Ferraris to Italy...the gents were parking their toys straight in front of a police station. After a few hours walking/eating they came back to the cars and a F 512 TR was stolen. The owner was crying and out of any control. One of the other drivers (he ownes a F40, F50, 288GTO) came to the sad gent and said: "Don`t care about it, its only an old pice of metal"!
At least he got no help and drove back to Germany next day by train!
To be honest, I haven`t been at the drive by myself, but I have been told the story several times excactly from several drivers who have been beside when it happened - its realy true!
Think about it and my experience with my car and 10 Lambo drivers who helped me!

that's amazing
and then they say that lambo drivers and ferrari drivers can't get along.
Didn't one of them hinted to you to swap to a Lambo ;)

Dirk,

yes, I have had several times the pleasure to drive a Diablo. A dear friend of mine (Ulli he joined us with his black Mondial in Bonn last time...you remeber) is also the owner of a Diablo. We drove together to Italy and 3 more days in Bardolino/Lago di Garda. This car is a devil in red!
About the Lambo gents. No problem with a smal, cheap Ferrari. This guys are gents without any bad or wrong attitude. You are always very welcome as a italian-sport-car-driver. We have had so much fun & party. On the way to Italy my car lost water and need to be repaired on the highway - every Lambo driver from our group stoped, wait, helped and lost 2 hours with me to rep. my car! Couldn`t have done the repair without them!!!! THANK YOU GENTS!
At Sant`Agata I have had so many friendly contacts to Lambo drivers about my car and most of them are also Ferrari drivers!

Well, I thought about it; but the only reason not to do it - my wall is to smalUpload

Dirk,

there were so many rare cars you won`t believe it!
Diablo GT (only 80 ever built) 23!!!!! on the parking lot!
I will never forget this event.

Ton, Jens, Mark,

about the 308 problem:
The water, metal tube/pipe was broken (the big and long one going around the belts). So I lost all my water within 10 seconds. We removed the right wheel, plastic cover and built the pipe out. We drove with a Diablo and the broken pipe straight in the next city in Italy to repair it in a smal garage. The guys runs crazy and they did a great job. Re-install, water inside back on the highway and everything is fine again. No problem!
Early in the morning ( B4 my car lost the water) we repaired another Diablo on the highway - he lost his belt....much more trouble and time to repair.

Ralph,

Hi Amar,

My mates think I have a very glamorous lifestyle, but the reality is VERY different! You're right - it's taxi - airport - plane - taxi - office - hotel - office - taxi - airport - taxi - home...if not straight on to the next place. For the first 6 months it was quite exciting, but for the past 7.5 years, it's been a bit of a ball-ache! However, it does pay the bills, and I shouldn't really complain.

I'm the worst with gifts too! Brought some stuff back from Nigeria though - I hope Debs enjoys...

Nurburgring....grrrrrr!! Another trip ruins another good F-weekend

Mark,

Good for her - she's probably thinking why should you alone have all the fun travelling! My fiancee is getting itchy feet lately seeing me go off to nice places; it's hard to convince her that 10 hours on a plane followed by airport to hotel to office to hotel to airport (and not even time to buy her a gift!!!) is not my idea of fun.

Wolfgang,

Hope you're having a great time on your trip! Nothing beats driving the Ferrari in Italy. And look forward to meeting you at Nurburgring...

Ton,
I`m sure this will be THE event of the year for me!!!

Sebastian,
Well, I have my digi-cam with space for 124 pics (yeah Dirk I know it s***s not 2.000)
But we will drive between 00:00 a.m. and 08:00 a.m. so only pics with flash.....

Dirk,

You are always very welcome - no problem!

Hey Wolfgang
you really need to bring back pics from your trip, try do to a line-up together with the Lambo's

and i'll try to get the last gallery's up, but at the moment i'm pretty busy with work
just spended 4.5 hours trying to configure a cisco router and then i find out that those damn idiots from Belgacom hadn't activated the ip adresses, i kinda exploded and i'm really tired now, so it's going to be something for the weekend

Wolfgang...if you do NOT take pictures of these wonderful cars (especially the Murcilago) I'll be really really angry with you... :-)

Please, do an exclusive photo shoot for CAR lite. I'll upload the pictures as soon as you get back so everyone can view them all in an album.

Have fun!! Greetings to Mr. R.F., tell him that he should think about me when he gets the special car...I think he knows what I mean!
