Wolfgang, Yes I may finally enter the 21st century soon and buy a DVD player and a digital camera - watch this space. Monaco was for us a nice weekend to remember, and even more fun with the chance to go behind the scenes and mix a little with F1 royalty. I've never been particularly good about taking photos on such occasions, as Jens knows too well - forgot to take any photos with him or me in them when we were in Maranello in February! Amar, wow, you are a lucky man! What a blast for you & your wife. And don`t care about the end of the race you haven`t seen....it sucks to see a BMW and Mercedes in front of the Cavallino at the finish line. Hello Wolfgang, I'm sorry to hear of your misfortunes on this occasion but you seem to have many other fantastic times and no doubt a few more to come soon, so no doubt you will enjoy them. Shame we couldn't meet, but we had an eventful and mostly fun time in Monaco. An added bonus was that Saturday night we got invited by a friend of a friend who just happens to be a key F1 figure (former Williams team manager and now expert commentator) to their hospitality yacht! So there we were driving along the circuit at 5 kph a few hours before the screaming F1 cars at 250 kph... Sunday was pure adrenaline despite Ferrari's misfortunes and Anna's ears still ringing 2 days later. There is something amazing about seeing a race from so close-by - a buzz that I've never experienced at any other circuit. Unfortunately we had to leave before the end of the race to get back on the ship but even that 1 hour of watching from just metres away was mind-boggling!!! Can't wait to do it again next year... Hi Amar, well I`m back from Monaco and dissapointed. Everything went wrong for me this time. I forgott my Mobil on Saturday night at the Hotel. Have to charge it and went to Monaco early Sunday morning and forgot the Mobil hanging at the wall to charge. So, no way to get in contact with you and the other gents. Got your Mobil number only stored at my mobil�.it sucks! We arrived very late on Sunday NEAR Monaco and there was no way to drive close to the city. All roads were closed! So we have to walk over 3 hours to the track�.it sucks! At least we arrived (after the start) at our place�.it s***! It was an appartement house and we have been there in the 11th floor�..it s***! Couldn`t see so much and most of the race we watched at TV�..it�! The place was close after the start before the first corner right comes on the left side of the track. After the race it was amazing to find the cars and going out of the city�.another 3 hours! So, we came too late to the race, saw nothing only TV, walked 6 hours�no fun! Amar, hope you enjoyed your trip and the race? Once again I`m so sorry and apologice for all the trouble and I`m sad not to meet you there. Hi Amar, my lovely wife is also dreaming of a looong vacation on a cruise ship - but no way to do this with me together! No way to drive my car there:-) I don`t tell here about your dream vacation. Well, the weather will be preety sunny for the weekend and everything is alright. I will call you when we arrive in Monaco and I know the place where we will watch the race. I have heared that we will watch the race from a private balkon/suit somewhere in the city. So no problem with tickets....hopefully. Stay in touch & enjoy your trip with the dream-boat. Hi Wolfgang, We thought it might be cool - imitating the life of the rich for a few days! It helps to have a fiancee who works with a cruise company. Yes let's phone each other Sunday morning and meet for the race if possible or a drink afterwards. And if meanwhile you find out your friends know a great little secret place to watch the race, call me!!! At the moment we just plan to get to Monte Carlo pretty early Sunday morning and look for a place at Le Rocher or nearby... Have a fun drive down! A presto, Amar | ||

Hi Amar, thanks, got you mail and try to get in contact with you - later in the afternoon. My mobil: +49 170-1647222 We will drive on Saturday to Swiss, Luzern. Meeting there in the late afternoon with all the other F-Drivers. We will stay in Luzern over night and drive together early Sunday morning to Monte Carlo. Arrival time 11:00 a.m. Still don`t know the parking ground, place to watch the race or anything else. I will call you from Monte Carlo to meet you. Amar, maybe it sounds curious to you but I still know nothing about timetables. I drive with my 308 and a friend (360 Modena)to Switzerland on Saturday. There we will meet another gent-driver with his F50. I don`t know till today, if we will stay there over night or drive direct to Monte Carlo...maybe Sunday morning? Wolfgang, You're fortunate being invited... if there is space for two extra people let me know!!! Do you know if you have grandstand seats or a general view from some place (eg Le Rocher)? Once I watched the race from a friend's balcony overlooking the circuit but this time we'll be slumming it with no tickets and maybe just getting to Monte Carlo early Sunday and trying our luck. It would be a pleasure to meet! My fiancee and I are taking a mini-cruise -- no 360 to drive around sadly -- and reaching Cannes Saturday evening. Jack, Thanks, I replied in the Racing Fans section. For a host of reasons we'll need to arrange two tickets well in advance, ie this week. By the way, my schedule isn't looking good for the chip work in June now - I might not be able to stay for the entire Nurburgring programme either and arrive there late or leave early.
