Jwa, You've got mail :-)
It's a big one, there are 22 photo's of in total around 17 mb.

Ton, I won't be able to make it to Assen, since I'm heading out for Pinkpop at that time.
Would have been great though, hearing from what Jwa told me, it will be lots of fun.

I had a great time tuesday on the circuit of Zandvoort.
After our breefing we were divided in groups of 6 to 8 cars.
Then we went either to the track to drive some laps or to the paddock to participate in slalom, brake testing straight forward and in a curve, 180 turns forwards and backwards, 380 powerslides and slalom.

I went to the paddock first.
It was great to get a real feeling of driving on the edge while going not to fast, 100 kmh was about max in a straight line.

Then we went to the track and were allowed some "fast" rounds, well because we weren't allowed to overtake you were as quick as the car in front of you still i was able to reach 200 kmh on the end of the straight.
The first car of the group was driven by the instructor, wo was doing his best not to drive too fast so all could keep up. they had a great day, every second lap the lead car stopped and the instructor changed to the next car, you could see them smile the whole day. All of them were experienced racecardrivers and they could really drive.
My best lap was when the instructor drove a 328 in front of me, and i followed his track about 1 carlength behind, for the first round he braked sometimes so the rest of the group could catch up.
Then i started to push him a little so he wouldn't brake, the second lap he floored it and after two corners the rest of the group was nowhere to be seen we took 2 corners going over 150 kmh, i could feel the car starting to drift.
After this lap the instructor complemented me that i could keep up and sayed "now that was racing" this lap was one great adrenalin rush, SUPER.

It was nice to meet Bart on the track and i was glad i was able to spend some tracktime with him.

Bart, nice pictures, to bad i couldn't find you during the fast laps, i would have taken you along again.
Well maybe on Assen on the 9th of june.

I wanted to take a lot of pictures buth we had a full schedule, so i only took a few.

FCN 3a

FCN 4a

FCN 7a

Btw according to FCN 51 cars were present on the track.

Dirk, there were around 30/40 cars attending.

It was greet seeing Tom Coronel driving in some of the cars. He really knows how to drift :-)

The 360 hit the barrier he was doing a 180.
They had to drive backwards and then make a 180 and continue forward, but he just hid the barrier. Not even that hard, but it just cracked.

Also Cristijan Albers came on the track for a few laps with his Merc. and then he took off again. I heared he really kicked @ss on the track :-)
I didn't see him drive though.

Sorry, once again no time for the photo's, gotta go again. I promise they'll be here Saturday :-)

Eey All, I'm back from the trackday and it was freeking good :-)

Had a really great time, was great to see all those Ferrari's drifting, doing 180's, slaloming etc. etc.

And thanks to Jwa I got my first ride in a Ferrari :-) It was super, Jwa was really racing his 308 but we weren't allowed to pass so a 355 was sticking infront of us all the time. This way he had to brake all the time, which was to bad. But I still had a great time, I was surprised how fast the 308 was, didn't expected that.

I'll post pictures tomorrow since I really need to do some work now :-)

Ahh well, here a a few "samples" :

Ok, latest update :-)

I phoned with the secretaris and he told me it was just a day to "improve" the driving skills of Ferrari driving Holland :-) The circuit is not closed in any way, so entering the paddock and pits etc. is not a problem.

It's not possible to enter the driving tests etc. not even if you own a Ferrari (although understandable, it's organized by Kroymans) but then again that's not my goal :-)

Ton, to bad, no driving at Zandvoort :-(

I think the women of Kroymans on the phone just didn't understand what I was asking her,
since it IS ok to come and watch.

Jwa, hope you'll have a great day, maybe we'll meet if not, enjoy the drive.

Edvar and others, enjoy the trip tomorrow (well, in a few hours :-))

I think you will be able to come to the paddock and the pits.

Last year i went to (a wet) Zandvoort with my dealer Munsterhuis, there was no control at the gates that day.
Later in the day i saw some people that weren't part of our group.

Maybe a call to the circuit will clear this.

Zandvoort 2002 002

Zandvoort 2002 003

And yes,i like trackdays that are wet, not pouring rain though.

Edvar, I won't be able to make it tomorrow, since I'm having my birthday party that evening and I need to make some last minute arrangements :-(

I didn't had the time to call the FCN secretaris yesterday, so I'll try tonight.
I'm also having some problems changing my appointment, so I'm not sure I can come eventually, but I'll try.

To come on to the circuit isn't that big a deal, I've been there before and there are many, many ways to get at the grand stand etc. but it would be so cool to get to the pits and "parc ferme" etc.

I'll keep you guys posted on what's going to happen.

btw. Jens you're right, I paided 47 euro's to be a member, so there should be a way this can be arranged.

Ton, when I make the call tonight I could ask if you can come ? If that's ok with you, like Jan Willem said, "the worst they can say is no."

Isn't there a FCN member on F-chat who is going to Zandvoort that can take Bart as a guest??

By the way I don't think it is a problem to go to the circuit and watch the day.
You want to be sure, call the circuit.

Hope to see you there

Bart, I'm quite sure that you can visit the event at Zandvoort. I haven't been there myself, but I know many "begunstigers" who have visited it in the past years. But it might still be wise to contact the FCN for more info.

By the way: are you also going to the "FCN Veluwe Rit" on Saturday (May 24th)? Please contact me privately at <[email protected]> for more details or visit the website of the FCN.

It should be possible to watch the cars at least! Keep on trying! If you are a non Ferrari owner member of the FCN (Hope I understood that right!) you should at least have the right to go there and watch! If not I am wondering for what you are paying or do I miss something here?!
Propose you turn to the FCN directly.

Damn, this is real stupid, arranging a free day to stay at home :-)

Anywayz Jwa, thanks a lot for the phone number etc., I'll try the secretaris aswell tonight so hopefully more luck then.

I can't retrieve my email right now, so I'll have to wait until I get home and phone them with the number you provided.

Only one appointment I have to re-schedule and then it's arranged. I'll spend the night in Haarlem at my girlfriend's place so I'll be there on time aswell :-)

Next teusday, mai the 27th, i will attend a trackday of the Ferrari Club Nederland on the circuit of Zandvoort.
This day is organized bij Ferrari Import Kroymans for the FCN.
Driving will be from 10.00 till 17.00.
The circuit has a live pitcam at www.circuit-zandvoort.nl although the image is not perfect, it's nice to have a look.
I'll be going to Zandvoort on Monday evening, and stay in a hotel, to avoid the traffic teusday morning. (and i don't fancy waking up at 04.30 to be in Zandvoort on time.)

Will post pictures ASAP.

Jwa.
