Guys
Perhaps you could let me know the name or theme of a charity that Amar and Jens held close to their hearts.

I haven't been on the Internet since last thursday .... and I was a bit pissed on Friday and Saturday, because I couldn't attend the FChat meeting at the ring .... Jens had organized it in such a nice way .... it would have been such a great day .... meeting FChatters and having fun ..... but then I read this VERY sad news .... unbelievable .... silence .... tears .... my heart stopped beating for a few seconds .... what a nightmare ....

Rest in peace Jens ... rest in peace Amar ...

My deepest condolences to their families and friends, wishing a lot of strength in this hard time ...

Best regards from a very sad F-Chatter, Edvar

Just a quick note from the Ringers list to pass on our condolences to all who knew Amar and Jens.

A friend of mine arrived maybe 10-20 seconds after the crash, and there seems no doubt at all that death was instantaneous. Perhaps those in touch with their families can pass on that small crumb of comfort?

The Ring is a very addictive but very dangerous track. Even the most skilled and most sensible drivers can crash there.

Ton & Wolfgang - Amar and I worked for competing multi-national consulting firms. I assume that his details are posted in line 9 of this spreadsheet:

http://www.eurocontrol.int/cba/studies/cbaguide/cbalist.xls

If this is indeed his firm, then the contact details are here:

http://www.adlittle.uk.com/about/default.asp?content=locations

...these contacts may be useful if we wish to get in contact with Amar's family. Bart & Roel - perhaps you could confirm whether this is the right consulting firm or not.

Hi all

my deepest condolence for both and their families.
What a sad occasion to be back on FerrariChat after a while.

I don't want to criticize something or anybody BUT
everybody should know that the Nurburgring is the most difficult and most dangerous circuit in the world.

Nearly EVERY day people are being killed driving their bikes or cars around the RING. The Media is asked not to publish the real number of casualties

NOOOO - I don't want to say: let's go back to everyday life BUT you should thing about WHY it happenes so often.

Pedal to the metal right after the first lap, fully overestimation, mostly wearing no crash helmets (also in cars), sharing the passenger-seat
with somebody else, never driven a Ferrari under circumstances like that, ........

May the dead of Amar Inam and Jens Haller be a warning for all of us !!

I put my thoughts in German words. Sorry, but I can't express what I feel at the moment. If anyone is able to read German, you can view it here.

Jens, Amar, I'll never forget you. You lived our passion.

It feels unreal, we just meet. Thursday night we had a couple of beers, and yesterday we had a nice drive to the ring but we only manage to do 3 laps before the disaster. I went out on the track just before Amar and Jens but they never came back.

Just woke up, to my surprise slept well.

Still can't beleive it their gone, after all the fun we had the day before. We (Jens, Roel and me) went karting, and strolled along the Rhein.
They both had driven 2 laps on the Nordschleife that day and I've riden along with both Amar and Jens.
Me or Roel were supposed to ride along with Amar but Jens cut in :-(

:-(

My thoughts go out to all their family, to Amar's girlfriend (who he should have married :-() and all other relatives.

Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens

A presto, Amar

Everyone,

As I mentioned on the Nrburgring thread, I have just had an emotional phone call with Wolfgang. Work prevented me from joining the F-Chat Europe delegation this weekend, and I was unhappy at not being able to be there to meet you all. However, the tragedy of this situation has eclipsed all other emotions...I am devastated.

Although I had never met them, Jens and Amar had become real friends online. They were passionate about their cars, were always keen to give advice and were really supportive when I had problems with my 328. Their absence will leave a vacuum on F-Chat.

I would once again like to pass on my deepest sympathiest to the families and to all who knew Amar & Jens.

Why ?

When you share a common passion, and share each others words, opinions and feelings, a sense of bond developes without ever meeting in person.

Amar and Jens, you will be missed and remembered by your brothers at FerrariChat. All my thoughts and condolences.

Today Amar Inam and Jens Haller died in a horrible crash at the Nurnburgring. It was supposed to be the start of a beautiful European event but a terrible thing went wrong. We are so shocked. Our thoughts go out to their families.

Let us remind them both as the two cheerful guys who really had "la passione".

I will miss them both.

Ton
