Hi Brian,

SOLD OUT the whole bash for Switzerland?
Do you know how many Stradale went to Swiss?
You can still buy & order in Germany. I know its still possible.
About the Challenge Finals in Mugello: 4 friends of mine are driving on Wednesday to Maranello and later to Mugello (360 Modena, 512TR, 355) for the fianls. Maybe I can arrange a meeting with you and the gents from Germany? Just advice me please.

Enjoy your drive and come back save.

Ferrari Switzerland have cancelled the Stradale event and will not be rescheduling due to 'logistical reasons'....bummer.

They pointed out in the cancellation letter that the entire Swiss Stradale allocation has been sold and no more orders will be accepted.

Perhaps now that all have been sold it's simply not worth the hassle of demonstrating the car.

I'm still off to the Challenge finals to get my 'Ferrari fix'. I'll post some pics of the event.

Stradale drive and factory tour have been rearranged for October 14th. I'll post pics etc. sometime after.
Anyone here going to the Mugello Challenge finals on October 17th-19th?

Here's a video of my F550 at Dijon earlier this year. It's a 2 minute Quicktime movie of around 5.5 MB.

Dear Friends,

I guess the drive was not a friendly one if I have a look to your tires ;-)
Such an honor to be able to run a the track with a 550 and F1 driver... even if he allows you to remarks that there is a gap between us (I mean me) and a F1 driver. But that's a good way to show how to improve our driving and maybe to try to follow his road and position on the track !
If we were more often closer to people with the experience of JP Jarrier we would learn so much, even already how to break !
Great experience, lucky happening !

Matthieu.

Can't join the Maranello trip Wolfgang. I'm just back from Toscana (spent last week there with my wife). I'll be there again soon for the Stradale session and then again for the Challenge finals in October.

Wolfgang,

As much as I really, REALLY want to visit Maranello again, that weekend is the only one I have available to ride my motorcycle to the UK. Yes - I will probably be passing through Frankfurt!

All this fun will have to wait till next year when there's (hopefully) not so much change, and my life has settled. There's just too much happening right now!

Thanks my friend, MARK

Brian,
I`m very sad to here this bad news and trust with you. Well, the F1 has always priority. But 36 hours B4 realy s****!
What a pleasure for you do drive together with a F1 icon like JeanPaul Jarier...once again, you drive us crazy here.
We will be next week, with 6 Ferraris, in Fiorano /Maranello. Any possibility to meet/join us for a drive?

@MARK, still waiting for your confirmation....drive to Italy, please let me know a.s.a.p. for the Hotel booking!!!!!

Sorry to report that the Stradale track session was cancelled 36 hours before it was due to start! The F1 team had priority... A new date will be set in the coming weeks and I'll report back then.

By the way, there is no mystery to arranging such events, just pester your Ferrari dealer until he finally gives in!

Here's a couple more pics from the Adria day as compensation!

A fast Testarossa...

My poor front tyre after the race and the incredible seven 'hot' laps with Jean-Pierre Jarier (ex-F1 driver) showing me how it should be done in my 550 (and lapping over 4 seconds faster than I managed all day!)

Hi Brian,

hey buddy you realy make me envious;-)
"...I'm off to Maranello next Thursday for some 'guest' laps of Fiorano in a Stradale.."
How the hell & f*** have you arranged this????
Advice & delight me please. I have been so many times inMaranello/Fiorano and never have had the pleasure to drive there. I will be again in Maranello between 02.-08. October. What is the secret?

Yeah, Didier that was me that picked up the trophy for 2nd place in the A group. Next year maybe the Stradale will help me to get 1st!!

I hope that you enjoyed your 2nd track event. Perhaps in the future we could hook up at Dijon, Monza etc. for a 'play'...

I'm off to Maranello next Thursday for some 'guest' laps of Fiorano in a Stradale. I'll take some pics/short movies etc. and hopefully post something in the coming weeks.

Hey Brian,

Did you win the trophee in the 360-550 category ? Do you have special rims on your car ?
Once on the track I had a 550 beside me that just accelerated...poef..never saw it again..haha..

I was driving "carefully" my red 360 Spider F1 (n A6). Only for the second time on track so I prefer to take car of me AND the car.

Tx for the pictures. Hope to see you next year !

Didier.

Brian,

wow, thanks a lot - great pics! If you shot some more, please post them here. Must have been an amazing event. Saw in your profile, that you are waiting for your Stradale - congratulation! You are one of only a few on a very long waiting list. A friend of mine set his order 3 month ago and will get his Stradale in Summer 04. This car is so close to the Enzo, its unbelievable.

Hi Didier,
I never knew that there was a fellow FerrariChat member at the Zenith day.
An excellent weekend all round. I had a shorter return to Zurich, just over 4.5 hours!
Attached are some pictures, as requested.

Hello,

Last weekend the Swiss dealer Zenith of Sion organised their annual Ferrari event. This time we went to the "Adria" autodrome close to Venise.

http://www.silhouet.com/motorsport/tracks/adria.html

We were more than 100 F-cars (!!) with a lot of 328, 348, testarossa's, 355, 360, 550 and 1 456. The only F40 went broke the day before (like I always say : never buy italian cars LOL). No Enzo's or F50.ooohhh..

The track is rather technical with a lot of 180 turns and no high speeds (I did 180km/h on the pit straight line). It's perfect to exercise choosing the perfect line, gear, etc. No accidents except some pirouettes and 1 360 touched some safety tires (a woman was driving..could that be the cause ??). The track was build in 2000 so everything was fairly new. It is used for DTM and motorbike races.

On Sunday, the town Mestre had organised a special "Ferrari day" where all our cars were exposed in the main street. There was also a 250 GTO and one Enzo. As we were escorted by police, it was also the first time (and the last time I guess) that the police ordered me to pass through the red lights and to go faster than 50km/h in town..haha.

Nice weekend but rather far because we had a 6h drive to get home to Switzerland.

Voil, that's all...

Didier.
