Hi Guys,

I'm back from the shops. The weather here was great all weekend but it has now started drizzling lightly. Not fun on a motorcycle!

Wolfgang, that's an excellent photo of your car on mobile.de. Like Ton, I think that the relatively high kilometres may be the issue for a lot of people. Also I don't think it is the very best time of the year to be selling. I bought this time of the year and it was more than 6 months later (in the spring) before I could really use the car. That's 6 months of insurance and garaging for nothing. This may put people off. Put it on the market in the spring and you'll probably get a flood of prospective buyers!

You always get screwed with trade-in's unfortunately.

Cheers, MARK

Ton,

I did! Yes, I offered my 308 at several dealers for trade to buy a Testarossa or 512TR paying the difference cash. I swore you: I never do this!
I was realy, realy pissed off.
For example (upon request I will send you off-line the dealers name):
Testarossa priced/asking 49K
He would like to take my 308 in trade for 25K and no more reduction on the 49K testarossa.
-25K is (IMO)not a serious offer
-no reduction on his firm 49K price
I asked him (without taking notice of his offer/sales price): Whats about a difference from 20K cash in trade for my 308......he was just laughing...no!
Yes, it hurts me and thats not the way doing serious business with a potential buyer.

Wolfgang,

I don't think that your car is overpriced! But probably the high milage scares people away. Why don't you use your 308 as a trade when you purchase the Testarossa.

BTW yesterday there was also a yellow F 512 M. Beautiful!!!

Wolfgang, when I was at Barcelona yesterday I found some nice offers and thought of you...maybe it's interesting for you. German cars, Testa, 90', only ~ 20 tkm...good deal. And a 85' with 22 tkm...even better. Just contact me for details...

Sure Ton, but otherwise if you (exactly I right now) want to buy a Ferari for 60-70K, you won`t get the cash-price-reduction you are asking for.
Its curious to me.
Is my 308QV overprized?
I thought there is no market for big 12 cylinders and I can buy a 512TR for a resonable price...but no way right now - nad its not any longer summer.
Whats wrong?
Its not only the economical depression IMO. `cause my business is still running like a rocket in the upper price class...not in the lower-yes,there is a brake.

I think that the market is slow because of the economical depression. People cannot afford this kind of luxury at the moment.

WOW, over 14.000km a year thats good to hear buddy! Where have you been with your Ferrari..some vacation in Italy?
About my 308QV mobile.de avertise:
http://www.mobile.de/SIDD8VIFvd6r.6vbKGZO0v0BQ-t-vaNexlCsAsK%F3P%F3R~BmSB10LsearchPublicJ1064766641A1LsearchPublicCCarX-t-vctpLtt~BmPA1A1B20B13l-t-vMkMoSm_xsO~BSRA6D8600G308%FF%A0GTSF308GTSA0A0/cgi-bin/da.pl?bereich=pkw&top=5&id=11111111126298476&
I`m very amazed, 0,00 reaction! No calls, mails or anything else. Maybe you can delight me whats wrong with the market. Its (IMO) the cheapest QV GTS in awesome great condition with some goodies like Katalysator, 348 wheels, lower kit, spacers, Tubi Style...a.so.. Is it about the km???? I know many Ferraris on sale telling us 30-50.000km but its not tru...they have over 70.-90.000km and changed odometer. My car is honest & true but still no reaction.
I`m still wondering whats up????
Good question Ton!

Ton,
maybe the belgian televison did some records and will broadcast this? Especially your driving over the bridge with the VIP`s.
In Germany its also cloudy and a bit rainy. I think the super summer is now over. But anyway, I have done on my 308QV this year over 15.000km.

Yes it was a great night indeed. I drove the route four times and one of the personalities was Joyce de Troch (take a look at her picture on Google.com). It was also fun to blast the Ferrari over a bridge to the VIP Hollywood style entrance with thousands of people watching and lots of press.

Good!

I had a really good evening with the Ferrari last night. We brought some (real) VIP's (TV, Movies, etc) from a parking to a big dancing event in Antwerp with 12 Ferrari's over a road that was cleared by the police! It was fantastic! After that we also joined the party with VIP tickets. It was fantastic and lasted until 07.00 this morning. There were several acts. Gloria Gaynor was one of them.

Yes, in Middle East, it is cheaper. I've been in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and that's true that the cars, and specially Ferrari, are really interesting in term of pricing... But be aware that the reputation of that market is not good. I couldn't say exactly why, but some people say : the maintenance is not well done, the sand and sea proximity dammage the painting and the chassis, the cars are not used often (that explain the low dangerous mileage you saw for the TR '89 with only 4000km !!), and when they use the car, they really use it (even with cold oil). You have also to add the transportation (about 2000 for France) and VAT (about 20% in France)... So I don't know, it seams to be very attractive, but before to start dealing with a car from Dubai or Saudi... try to know very very well the past of the car and the owner(s). But maybe you can make a good deal, that deserves a deeper inquire...
To be continued !

on the first view it looks cheap & logical.
But whats about shipping costs, VAT? In which condition are the cars? Any (prof.!)services done...sorry,where the hell in Saudi?

Its cheap becasue the 2nd hand market is very small. Its mainly the royal family who will buy that sort of car, and they always prefer to buy new. Therefore people like us get to pick up bargins!

No, I realy don`t cry. I`m just a bit dissapointed.
WHY is Saudi sooooo cheap to buy? Whats the reason? Heiko told me the same a few month ago. (He was on a business trip in Dubai)

When I was in Saudi earlier this year I almost bought a 89 Testarossa for about 18,000. The car was Red with beige leather, 4000 kms total mileage! Excellant condition, and one owner from new.

The only reason why i didnt buy it is becasue my contract was terminated early and I had to return to the UK. I may be going back over to work again, but I doubt the car is still available. Shame really.

Oh and I almost bought a Lambo Jeep for 11K.

Went to see a Black 360 too. 2002 model, 3K miles. F1 gearbox. Guess how much... 10,500! Unfortunately it had been involved in an accident and had a lot to repair. I took pictures of the car, so if anyone is interested in seeing them let me know, and i'll post them.

You have such a big choice on mobile.de that you will find much better for cheaper I guess ;-) That's better to think this way than to start crying for the loss... But for sure that's an unlucky event, at least unpredictable !
Best luck for your TR search !

Hi gents,
I have told you about my plans to by my next dream car:
Ferrari TESTAROSSA
The story started with this thread at ferrarichat.com:
http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/174013/311533.html?1063998763

Maybe, this was my fault!
I spoke to the owner several times over phone and we both have had a very good feeling
and everything was fine and on the right way.
Our first appointment has been canceled by the owner `cause he was on a business trip and we decided to meet us on my way back from the Austria-Ferrari-Drive last Sunday.
We spoke again several times and I drove to Austria with the cash in my pockets and a
very, very good feelingagain, I posted this here at ferrarichat.com with our new
meeting date and purchase day once again my fault!

The owner called me during my Austria trip over cell-phone and told me realy very sorry and he apologized to me 100 times during our phone conversation what happened:

A gentelman from Sweden (????) called him, that he has seen his Testarossa at www.mobile.de AND he has been also following a thread in an internet Ferrari forum about
this car and sombedody will be on the way to buy this car on Sunday (yes, that was me,-)
The owner told him, that the car will be ON HOLD for me (Wolfgang) till Sunday when I arrive at him.
One day later, on Friday, the Swedish-Assclown flow direct from Sweden to Munich. Without any appointment, he just flow over to Munich, took a cap to the owner and smashed him all the cash without any discusson or test drive on the desk!
To me understandable, the owner made the 5 seconds cash deal

The Rest of the story is clear:
No Testarossa for Wolfgang
Must start again the search for the right toy
No more details here at the forum B4 I have the contract and the car belongs to me.

I don`t know the name of the Assclown (and I don`t want to know it). I`m also sure, he is not
an active member of the board, maybe just an observer?

Nevertheless I would like to wish the proud new owner of this beautiful & amazing Testarossa:
Good Luck & Enjoy Your Drive!

Anyway Destiny

Wolfgang
