Yes it was. I think in total they did 10 cars, including a Cobra replica and a GT40 replica. Some of us got together for a reunion at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground to see what the cars could really do. Great fun as there's a 2 mile straight. Magnificent !!! |

Stunning Mark! I have not seen the programme and will make sure that I do. Was it one of those restorations done my Mark Whatshisname - the guy who biuld the aeroplane, restored the e-Type, rebuilt the Harley, built a racing car, etc?? Cheers, MARK |

Here's some pictures from when the TV crew turned up on a very cold morning in March this year. All I had to do was answer an easy phone in question. Left a message on the answerphone and I was picked at random - jammy or what!

Mark, that's great that you're on this chat site aswell To bad for all the problems you still have, but it's great to win such a car. What did you have to do for it ? And off course, pictures ?? Bart |

Hi All, Yep, I was the very lucky winner. The car has immaculate bodywork - it should have being stripped back to bare metal, but the electrics were some what suspect. I've rewired a lot of it already and still have a lot to do. Mind you, the engine is as sweet as a nut (which is the main thing) apart from, as Mick says, the hot starting. Yeehaa Discovery (or Channel 5 where I won it!) All the best Mark |

Hi Guys, The 308GTBi you mention on Discovery Channel was actually given away as a prize after the first showing in UK earlier in the year. Lucky man was called Mark and while it was a great prize, I know he's had a lot of trouble with the car and is still trying to cure a hot start problem. Mick |

OW that's to bad, well more luck next time I'll bet lots of pictures will be posted here, so it will feel a bit like you were there aswell It was a real shame they didn't show more of the rebuild. A complete rebuild, and they only showed like 10 minutes of the rebuild. |

Hello Bart, good to talk to you again I'm sorry but i can't come to the Jubileumrit because i'm way to busy and i can't reschedule this. To bad Discovery didn't spend more air-time on the rebuild, like they did with the E-type Jaguar. Jwa

Hey Jwa, nice to see you around here again I just watched the show, I flipped by and it was pretty nice. They completly rebuilded the 308 with the help of some Ferrari experts. Bart Ps. Are you coming to the Jubileumrit next saturday (11th) or do you have to work ? |
