It will be a collectors car but not yet. The looks plays against him though, it is too normal looking.

An you are right 103000 is high. The block is pretty strong and will have been less tresed it rev lower, and will last forever. But not so the rest of the car. With the torque of that engine delivered only to the front wheels you can bet that car will soon need a new transmision and direction if it has not been already replaced.

However there are very few in good condition nowdays and in my opinion they will get the classic condition in a few years. I hope there will be some owners like my friend that will keep them in running condition. Aftera all they are a Ferrari in their hart ;)

328 block sleeved down to 3L, with a different crank, cams etc to the F-car item, anybody think 103k miles is a little much?, this will prob end up at one of the classic car auctions (if it hasnt already)
if Julio's friend has difficulty getting Lancia bits, how the F!" would you get them in England with no Lancia dealers!

That is correct, it has the fuel injected 2996 cc block . The '88 version developed 215 bhp with a peak torque of 285 Nm (29.1 kgm) at 4500 RPM.

It is not the 308 engine, it was developed over the 308 engine, which means that most of the parts are not interchangable. My friend, the one how alowed me to test the car, still has it, but he has big trouble every time the car breaks down. Many official Lancia garages does not accept this cars for repair anymore because many parts are not available. INHO it is trully a car for a person with deep mechanic skill and with a sense of adventure ;)

Sorry to had made the comparison with the 328, it is what I have, I have never driven a 308 so I can't compare.

Julio I believe it was a 308 engine the 8.32 refering to number of cylinders./ valves not cc. It also did not have a flat plane crank which gave it lower revs but more torque

Julio,

I think that you hit the nail on its head! It is true what you say. It is absolutely a fun car but there is a few but's.... to it.

I did. Before having a Ferrari I used to had a good memory of this car. After I got the 328, that in theory has the same engine, I have changed my opinion.

The car it self is fun, however the engine is way less powerful then the 328, the car is heavier, the engine sound is muffled. Handling, hmmm dangerous, performance numbers were high for the 80s, but not enough for today standards. But it was a good deal for those who could not afford a real Ferrari.

Now if the question is looking at the price, then I will say buy it!!! if is in good shape.

Just one thing, servicing the Lancia Ferrari is a bit of a nightmare becuase, belive it or not, getting parts to repair that engine is way more difficult than for the 328s, at least in Spain.

I bought a Lancia Delta Integlale 16v back then, way better performer in all aspects. No Ferrari engine, but still a wonderful engine and incredible italian car.

Same time frame, comparable new price, but if you look at Lancia Delta Integrale price today and the Lancia Ferrari you'll se that something is wrong bout trhe last one. Integrales are being sold between 10000 and 20000 Euros while Lancias Ferrari are down to the 3000 Euros.

Regarding interiors both were bad, really really crapy.
