Hi Christian. I will ask a friend of mine (who lives in Switserland) as he should have some more details about it. Please send your email address to me at <[email protected]>, so that we can handle this privately .... |

Edvar: You are right. The lower section was painted in body color by the previous owner. Could you give me more information about the history of the car, please. Also, any chance to fax me the magazine arcticle (250 764 0715). Thank you in advance, Christian |

Thanks for the VIN! I indeed overlooked that one in my database. So, this is the one which was previously registered on Dutch plates LN-NP-33! And before that on Swiss plates ZH 4117? Ex-Severino Cassani? Featured in "Passion" 2/89 ??? Funny .... By the way: no Testarossa ever left the factory with those low spoilers painted in the body colour. They must have been painted by one of the owners, or by a dealer ..... |

Nice car! But sorry to hear that it has left my country. Anyway, just a guess for the VIN: ZFFTA17S000060111. Am I close? ;-) And this should be the F512M of the previous owner of your car. (photo made by my brother Arvid). Grtx, Edvar

Anonymous, Very nice TR! I am with Peter on the year model. It was not until early in 1987 that they switched to mounting the mirrors on the A pillar. In addition, in late 1987 or early 1988 they switched to the five lug wheels. Correct me if I am wrong anybody. It is possible that may be the previous owner had the mirror-mods done when it was painted I guess some people do not like the high mirrors. If it is possible, could you post the VIN? That would clear up the date of manufacturing. Thanks, Joe

Peter, I will try to come by with both cars. I did not drive knox mountain yet but hopefully will. The car was produced in 02/86 for the Swiss market. Therefore I thought that it is a 86 model. The previous owner did a major service last year and had it also repainted inc. bottom of the car for USD 6,000 (just the respray)because it had some rock chips and some scratches and he wanted no color difference. The only "problem" is,that the timing belts where replaced in 11/95 and as far as I can see not the bearings. |

That doesn't look like an 86' The 86' version had only driver side mirror, elevated half way up the windshield mount. Judging by the knock off wheels, and both driver and passenger side mirrors that car appears to be a 1987 model.. Did you also paint the front lip spoiler and side rocker panels to match the body?? |

Here my other car, a 1986 Testarossa. He has a stronger diff. carrier and updated gearbox from the 1989 mod. plus AP racing brakes. I have to wait until March to have the car here (BC) as it is coming from Holland. The previous owner bought a 1997 yellow 512M and has a 360 as well (and some Porsche and ... - oh well).
