My top also resides behind the seat where it belongs. It's off more than on. It shows no signs of wear to speak of, just a little spot where the cover wraps over it to hold it down. Hardly noticeable. |

I still store the top of my GTSi in the car, behind the seats. I, too, like the look of the colored panel. My question, how scratched up does the painted panel get? The black has a little 'give' to it, so it really won't scratch. Its gotten a little polished where the seats rub it, otherwise, its fine. |

There are aftermarket glass t-tops available for the 308/328/348 GTS/TS models too. |

Looks beautiful. The colour-matching top really looks good on the 328 (maybe because I like the GTB and this looks alot like it). |

Hey Don, I'm with you on the non-factory "top". I agonized between GTB and GTS, because I liked the lines of the GTB, but thought it would be great to be topless. I think I got the best of both worlds!

I replaced the selenoid on the passenger's side door. It was causing both door locks to oscillate. Good luck. Dan |

Dan, YES that is exactly the problem! They seem to have oscillated to the point where now the key lock will no longer lock the doors. I talked to a very knowledgable mechanic at F-San Francisco who said it was common to have connector problems in the doors and he beleived that could cause this problem. My plan is to disassemble a door and see what I could find. How did you fix your issue? --Don PS - I will not be at CI unfortunately due to a prior committment. |

Don, What did you mean when you mentioned the door locks have a mind of their own? Do the door locks oscillate? I had a problem like that. Dan |

I have to agree...I think black is THE color for a 348! Congrats to Don...I know just how ya feel. So how long did you have to wait to get that first Ferrari? Only took me 18 years LOL...well better late than never I say Sandra |

Thanks to everyone that responded! I purchased the car in San Jose but I have several things that need "correcting" (read "fixing") that Ferrari of Los Gatos is doing for me. The door locks seem to have a mind of their own and I have the slow window problem described in the thread elsewhere, amongst other things. Mechanically it's great and I'm really enjoying learning how to drive it. It would be fun to join in a mini rally or other events in the Bay Area, I'll watch to see when the next one is scheduled. I have been reading FerriChat for several months while I was looking more seriously for a car so my thanks to all of you for the indirect help. I look forward to being an active member now that I have a car to talk about! --Don |

Enjoy your 348; there are several Ferrari Chatters on the East Coast with black 348s - I have a black one too. It is a sharp color, really stealthy, especially with your black painted targa and black interior. |

Hi Don, My congratulations on the purchase of your 348 as well. As Dan mentioned there are several of us 348er's in the Bay area. Dan has a black 348 Julian has a black 348 you have a black 348 I have a red 348 And to think that I had heard red was the most common. :} As Dan mentioned, did you purchase it at F-Los Gatos? I had actually looked at a black 1990 348ts there when I was shopping for mine. I think it might have been that one. I really like the smooth targa-top treatment, I saw one red car with the top matched, looked real sharp. Hard to tell from a 348TB visually Enjoy it and please join us on the next mini-rally we do. We have already done 2 so far. Ben L. has posted a few pix on the Local/Regional- Pacific Region thread here. Take a peek. >> Larry |

Don, Congratulations on the purchase of your 348! I see you purchased it at Ferrari of Los Gatos. I assume you are from the Bay Area. There are a few of us 348 owners that subscribe to Ferrari Chat that are also in the Bay Area. You will have to join us next month for one of our mini-rallys. Cheers. Dan |

After many years of wanting a Ferrari I finally found one that I couldn't resist. It's a 1990 black on black 348ts. One of the things I really liked about this particular car is the painted (glossy) top. I had never seen that before and it really finished the lines of the car in my (totally unbiased) opinion. Now if I can just learn how to stop hitting the air dam every time I go into my driveway ... --Don
