Kenny- I live in Bedford but work in downtown White Plains (the Financial Center, on Martine). Car is usually on Long Island at my weekend home, but is in White Plains now getting brakes redone. E-mail me and I'll meet you one day to show you the car. Missed Lime Rock because I was there the entire previous week taking their racing course, and couldn't stay away from the family. Did you go? Martin-know what you mean. My car at shop >2 weeks for simple brake repair & I'm calling them every day. They will probably never deal with me again. |

Solly, Ordered new headlight assemblies thru Lynn Tanner. Since Ferrari is closed until Sept and the lights are backordered it looks like more of a wait.Difficult for a control freak who needs instant gratification! |

Steven, Great car! I am from White Plains also. I live off Bryant near the High School. Where do you live? I have never seen your car around. I have seen Nick Wolf (Century 21) in his 328 all the time on Mamaroneck avenue. A friends father of mine has a 512tr from 92'- never drives it much. I'd love to see your car sometime . Did you go to the Ferrari Challenge day at Lime Rock in June? Have a good one, Kenny |

Are they Pirelli P4000? I just ordered a set today from a local tire shop. My XWX's were as hard as hockey pucks. They totaly flat-spotted while sitting in my garage as I go through this rebuild. I could give the car a good shove, it'd roll and come to a dead stop, each time! The 308 GT4 came with those mags as standard, I've got the upgraded, optional 7 1/2 X 14" Pentastar Campy's. |

P.S. The wheels are Chromodora, the original XWX tires are gone forever, but the Pirellis match up very closely. The "chairs and flares" Dino had Campagnolo wheels but those flares destroyed the lines of the car and look like they were welded on in someone's garage. |

Mark- Actually started out at Columbia P&S in '79 but transferred to their dental school before end of year 1. Practiced dentistry for 13 years then in '97 founded a NY managed care company which took off. I retired from clinical practice and now manage our various HMOs and dental clinics. Thanks for the feedback on the Dino; wish I could say I restored it myself, but all I did was pay for it (and pay, and pay,,,,,). You're right about a nice slow car for a teenager. I'm thinking a 3000 RPM cutout when I give him the Dino. Where do you practice? What type of practice? |

Couple other things, I love the wheels, campagnolo magnesium? I like the look of the wheel/tire combos on the circa 1970 italian "supercars". On the issue of what Dad drove -- my Dad proudly pulled into our driveway with a new 1982 VW Rabbit diesel. As I was -teen years old, I can affirm that it is impossible to get any wheelspin, no matter how high you rev the engine, nor how fast you drop the clutch, unless starting from a very loose gravel surface. Something I never would have learned if I was my current age. Think about what Bret knows about a 308 compared to us 'old' guys. Now that I am 'old' and have a two year old, I realize what a great car that was for a teenage son... Something to think about, Solly. |

Med School? EEEEEEPH. That doesn't help. I did that/am that. I can't afford a gorgeous Dino 246, and I have no time to spare for my 308. What you need to do is invent the next Widget... and I have no time for that either. Who are these Doctors that play golf and drive 360's? Urologists? Dermatologists? Did you buy the car like this, or is there a lot of sweat equity in your car. Looks great! |

Bob- Grew up on the low end of middle class, and was always a car nut. Encouraged my dad to buy one of the early BMW 2002's in 1974, when I was 17 and he needed a replacement for the '67 Fairlane wagon. He didn't have a clue. Week later he proudly announced that he had been to the Dodge dealer and orderd a "sports" car. I'm thinking Charger/Challenger and dreaming Roadrunner (as if that could ever have happened). I tell all my friends at school that next week I am driving them around in Dad's new sports car. Big day comes and I rush home only to find a tannish-brown Dodge Dart in the garage, color reminiscent of infant poop. To add insult to injury, it is the "Swinger" model, with a little yellow flower over the "i" in Swinger. It is a 2 door though, and my Dad is convinced that this makes it "sporty". I flip out and have never recovered. Week later Popular Mechanics has a '74 Pantera, Miura and Dino on the cover, and I vow never to be caught dead in brown Dart as soon as I can earn some dough. My boy is 6 and my girl is 7 and they both can name every exotic on the road. Martin- Get the headlight burn on the 360 fixed? Went to look at the 360 again at Miller Motors but 200 big ones is a lot of money. Should have gone to Med school. |

Solly, yep, we have two kids.... our boy looks about the same age, almost 9. He's a real baseball freak, loves it. We have a little girl too, almost 5. How many times have you had the discussion not to brag about Dad's car? I don't know about you, but I grew up with my Dad driving a Chevy Impala..... no Ferrari's around our house when I was a kid! |
