Sunny,

Sorry. The plants are gone. What Dr. Marty did not take to California to trade for gas for his 360...the cops took during the last raid. In fact, there is a DEA van parked accross the street right now waiting for Marty's return.

Do we still need wood for the firepit in the living room? Or, should we tear out part of the leaking roof and use that? I seem to recall some pretty odd looking plants hidden about that have a certain "street value," which might add to our enjoyment on Sat.

Matt...

OK SOUNDS GREAT. See you Saturday with the backhoe!! Also, bring your paintball gun! Marty's house is sooo big it take a while to find somebody on the blue army's side, but when we do...all Hell breaks loose! We have had quite a few great paintball battles in the house so far and were planning a big game for this Saturday's party.

Bruce,

Those fish were good eating. Some were a little chewy for my taste. The blond..I think she just wandered in. There were so many people there I can't remember just one blond. Sat! I can bring my backhoe to dig up the backyard to make room for the basketball court. For more booze, check in the 5 gallon water jugs. That's where he keeps the vodka.

Matt,

You must have come in the house when we left the front door open for all our friends to use the house while WE were out. We saw what looked like a smashed remote laying next to the remnants of Marty's 500 gal. salt water reef tank. (Too bad about the fish and all those little enenomes, ehh??) OK...I won't look any more for the remote any more. We already found the extra booze behind the HO HO's. We were hoping there was more as we are planning to have about 200 people over this Saturday night. The last party we had, the cops used quite alot of pepper spray to clear out our guests. I think that stuff stains and is pretty hard to get off of things as there is sticky residue all of the furniture and walls. Also, there is a (fairly attractive) blonde lady that is staying in one of the extra bedrooms. Is she a friend of yours? If you are not doing anything, come over Saturday night as we are having a "demolition" party to make way for the indoor disco we plan to install.

Bruce,

The booze is in the lower left door next to the blender. It's behind the box of ho-ho's. I broke the remote last week. His furniture only LOOKS expensive. It's really from IKEA.

Dr. Marty,

Looks like you're having a great time there in California. Please stay as long as you want.

Not to get off topic here, but Eileen and I have decided to move into your house while you were gone. A couple of questions. Where's the remote for the TV? Is THAT ALL the booze you had...or is there a secret stash we have not found yet? Your furniture looked expensive...how much do you think it will cost us to replace your dining room table. A few of our party guests that we had over last weekend kinda got carried away and were dancing on it before it broke. Should we water the plants?

See you soon!

I had a BLAST!! Too bad we couldn't make the whole trip, but it's a long drive for my 2 year old. Total miles for us was ~180. It was great meeting everyone, but I wish we could have stayed longer and met Martin with his 360.

Matt, LOL, I can't belive how many times I've heard the comment that my daughter looks like Boo. In fact, for halloween, that what we dressed her up as.

Matt-
It truly was fun-
Although I have to say I noticed a little oil smoke coming from the engine compartment when I parked at Blackhorse...Steve said probably not a big deal, perhaps a little drip from the cam seals onto the exhaust...he said just to keep an eye on it-I guess the PO didn't drive it very hard. Oh, well, we'll see.
Anyway-I had a lot of fun. I especially liked the sound of all the horsies runninng through the tunnel!

Hi everyone,
We had a great time yesterday,,,It was good to meet everyone and put faces to names. The run on the 101 Fwy between Santa Barbara and the Solvang exit was great...I'll leave it at that.

JL, Julie and I ended up at the Blackhorse opening. Lots of nice cars, food, drink. (Matt- NO ENZO!). Oh, well it was fun anyway.
Thanks everybody, I'm looking forward to the next time- Maybe I can sharpen up my driving skills; Matt says I'm only using 60% of my 328's capability! Yikes!

DES-my "garage queen" just couldn't keep up with Matt's 308.Perhaps I should have taken it out of 2nd gear!
Also a screaming wife is an inhibiting influence.

LOL DES, you should have seen all the people gather around us at that parking lot near the Carls Jr. I think they thought it was a car show. This was the beginning of the City of Solvang, a big tourist area north of Santa Barbara that is a Danish community.

We also met someone there, whose name I forgot, who also owns a Mondial and who lives near us in Northridge. He is thinking about selling his car. We told him abut FerrariChat and all the fun rides we do and tried to convince him not to sell and to join us on some rides. I hope he joins the chat discussions and becomes part of our (not so) little community.

Ron, thanks... Sounds like it was a real blast...! How you guy managed to get the awesome weather and the rest of the country is under seige of snow flakes is a mystery to me, but i'm happy, nonetheless... The pictures denote happiness and a joy to get together and share what it is to be a Ferrari enthusiast... Everyone looks happy... Smiling or talking or checking out the cars... Sounds like a very awesome day...

Ron, those wheels look awesome... :-)

All the cars look great...

You all didn't really stop for Carl Jr.'s $0.99 spicy chicken, did you...? LOL... :-)

DES, it was a great day. It threatened rain but never did.

Starting from the top, the 5,6,7,9,10,11,and 12th picture were taken at Martin's private beach bungalow parking lot. His place is built over the water with the waves crashing in below. You cannot see it from the pictures, but the parking lot is right at the edge of the water also.

The pictures in the parking lot starting with # 12 from the top and going down (but intermixed with others) were taken as we met in Thousand Oaks to begin the drive to Santa Barbara to meet Martin, his lovely wife Faye and Bob Callahan and his friend, Daniel (I think).

The pics on the street where we were all lined up were when I wanted to put my top up because I was convinced it was going to rain any second.

The other, more open parking lot was at our exit off the freeway when we began heading towards our lunch spot. Matt, thought it best for us to get the cars off the road quickly (you can figure that one out :-)). I won't say how fast we were going but that speed would have been competitive at Le Mans a few years ago.

The picture of all of us posing together under the trees was at the old stagecoach stop lunch spot way back in the hills. You should have seen all the Harley riders and others watching as 7 F cars made their way in to that place.

Some Harley riders actually moved their bikes to make room for us to have a safe place to park.

What a great day. All together I drove about 215 miles. Steve (in the Boxer) must have driven 350 miles, coming up from Orange County.

Sorry that most of the rest of the country is having such bad weather. That is the huge storm that we had last week making its way across the country.

It was great to see you again, Matt JL and Craig, and it was great to meet you Steve, Bob, Martin, Mike and Dom and all the passengers, Sunny, 2 Daniels (I think), Faye, Julie (I think) and Dom's daughter (I did not hear her name). Sorry if I messed up on any names.

Sunny a special thank you for taking and posting all the pictures :-).

DES we will do something similar and special when you come out.

Jim, and Jean-Louis and his g/f took a bunch of pictures as well, including a lot of on-the-road shots which I can't wait to see. JL is going to put together a CD of all the pictures.

JL, let me know if you want me to e-mail the originals to you in batches.

About the day... it was spent in Ferrari filled bliss for me. Overtaking, corners, awesome scenery, tops off or down, and oh god.. the tunnel with Marty's 360. My face hurts from the smiling, cheering, and laughing throughout the entire day.

Unbelievable and intoxicating. That's the only way I can describe it. Imagine your heart fluttering with excitement hour after hour. Thats how it was for me, AT LEAST!
