Dirk, the trip shouldn't be to long I guess, from the word "Amsterdam" it's a nice quiet highway, so no traffic jams etc.
Only when passing Utrecht should give you some hard time.

Just do it :-)

JW,

Thanks for the pictures. I have already put the date in my agenda. I kind of like those easy accessable events. It is a nice way to share the passion.

Maybe we will be able to meet there!

Dirk, you've never heared of the TT of Assen, the famous MotoGP ?

The circuit is real nice, not as famous as Zandvoort, but great to be there.
Also Assen itself is great, especially during the "Nacht van Assen" the night before the MotoGP.

Oww I'm gone, soccer starts, let's hope Ajax will win :-)

Great pictures Dirk thank you.

Sorry you had to wait Ton, i have been busy over the easterweekend, so it took me untill now to scan pictures of Viva Italia 2002
viva italia 001
viva italia 002
viva italia 003
Oke the event is not as big as Italia a Zandvoort but very friendly and accessible.
And the best thing is i got a lot of tracktime.

Wow, been offline for a few days and suddenly this thread is 10 feet tall. Had a bit of reading up to do.

Edvar: the 348 in the picture doesnt have serie speciale lights, although from a distance you might judge otherwise. When we got closer the black lines became more visible. By the way, on the bigger picture, I could just make out 24-JR-LS as its licence plate, in case you might know this car. (in the big picture the black lines across the taillights are visible too) Not much more intersting info in the pic, but if you still want the large one, let me know. Quality isnt perfect.

Dirk: sorry for spelling your name wrong, heh

Jwa: welcome to the board! Good to see another dutchie add to the list here. Judging from the pics, you've got a great looking 308. Great shot there with her sisters in the stables.

ps: Edvar I love your pictures down there.

Ton, I've been twice to Viva Italia and I like it, so I'll try to be there again this year. I can agree that it's a bit like a truckersfestival, but only in the positive way. There is some nice action and it's also nice to see other Italian makes, like Lamborghini, Maserati, Iso Rivolta and so on. Take your car for a spin on the track, which is FAR MORE interesting than the track time during Italia a Zandvoort. For some pics, please visit my website: www.red-headed.com (go to Photo Galleries and click on the Viva Italia event). Grtx, Edvar

Hi Dirk,

nothing wrong with your camera!

The forum just "squeezes" the large images into the smaller "space" of the thumbnail and thus deforms the image.

Can be resolved by creating the thumbnails yourself by making two versions of the image; one large (your base image) and one small by reducing the size in a graphics program.

Microsoft Photoeditor will do the trick (you probably have that one as it comes with Microsoft Office).

I don't know if that forum allows for uploading your own thumbnails though.

Bart

yes the thumbs are creating automatically
and i only have those weird thumbs with this gallery and the one from techno classica, and both are created right after the site was moved to a new server and when i started using a new camera
I'm glad that the pics are OK, i would just like the thumbs to be normal aswell

Dirk, thanks a lot for those photo's

Some real cool ones, like the F50 with opened lit.

The problem with the thumbnails appears to be due to the image size. The program/site makes thumbnails on it's own, is it ? That's probably the cause, but it's not a slightest bit annoying or so :-)

and yes i know that there's something wrong with the thumbnails, but i don't know what it is (yet)

Have you been at viva Italia in Assen before? Is it worth going there with your Ferrari? I looked at the website but it looks a little bit like a truckersfestival with smoking tires and loud music.

For info about Viva Italia it's best to look on www.vdbcarevents.nl and for info about Italia a Zandvoort on www.circuit-zandvoort.nl
I will post more info as sone as i get it.

Dirk, a friend told me about the situation at the castle. Really a pity!

Bart, yes the 550 owner also has a red F512 M. There are only a few F512 Ms in Holland (I think 4 or so), so it would indeed have been nice to see one. I know that the owner of the grey 360 Modena present also has an F512 M (and an F40 and a Testarossa Koenig Competition II). Well, maybe an F512 M will show up at the next meeting. We will see ...

JWA, welcome to the club! I'm sure I'll see you at Viva Italia ...

Greetings, Edvar

Ah well, it can't be pleasure all the time.
It's business before pleasure, at least to keep it affordable :-)

I'll go the Italia a Zandvoort for sure, but I won't be at Viva Italia since it's during Pinkpop.

Hello Bart

I'm sorry to say that i'm not able to come to the Fchat.com meeting in june, although i would have liked to go. The restaurant is just to busy those days.

I will go to a FCN circuit day on the 27th of may, it's a tuesday and the restaurant is closed so no problem there.
I will be at Viva Italia on the circuit of Assen on the 9th of june and i'll try to go to Italia a Zandvoort on the 29th of june.

Hello Jwa,

To bad we didn't "met" here before the meeting.
Although we came in way to late, it would be great to talk to an owner :-)

Well maybe some other time.
I sended out my application form for the FCN monday, so I'll be visiting more meetings from now on :-)

Are coming to the European Fchat.com meeting aswell ? Would be great, to see more people from the Netherlands join.

Edvar, you mean the 550 owner has a F512 M and he didn't take it with him ???

Damn, I like 550's, but the 512M makes me glow even more.

Funny you mentioned the 348 speciale look, it's the same thing Roel said when were following it :-)
But from upclose it didn't looked that way if my memory servs me right. (but don't blame me for a bad memory, it let me down before :-()

I'd love to meet you on other meetings aswell, but that wouldn't be to hard I guess.
And otherwise off course the European Fchat meeting :-)

I found it a shame that the Enzo was a no show, instead we got the F50
And trust me Edvar, the start was the best place to be, at the finish nobody was allowed inside that "castle"., at some point the cars where in a traffic jam trying to get inside.
and also in the afternoon the F50, Lusso and Europa headed home, so they weren't at the finish :-(

Hi guys! It was indeed a nice meeting, although I could only go to the first meeting point and not to the others. But the weather was nice, there were some great cars and it was also very nice to meet FChatters Bart and Roel. I'm sure we will meet each other more often!

Anyway, here are some more pics. I hope you like them!

By the way: Roel, can you send me larger pictures of the 348 you saw on the road. It looks like the black rear grill has been removed (a kind of 348 Serie Speciale-look). On the other pic, it looks like it has F355 rims ....

Oh yes, the 550 had gold-coloured brake calipers. The interior is a mix of green and tan. And the owner drives this car daily (which is quite special here in The Netherlands). Did I mention that he also has an F512 M and a Murcielago (probably the one I saw today on the highway)? .......

when i arrived there where only about 8 cars, so i saw them all arriving, in the parking lot and driving off, and i also went to the end point near eindhoven
i got LOT'S and LOT'S of pics

and roel those brakes on that 550 where something of yellow/orange color, and the interior was a bit weird also

also got a shot of the 360 :

Yeh, I didn't like those brakes on the 360, but while thinking it should have been red brakes, yellow might be better after all. Ah well in person I didn't liked them :-)

I can't post the movie of the F50, because the size is to big, but it was shitty quality afterall

Aaah Good to see you've posted the pics Bart, Did you happen to take a picture of the green 550, I would like to check the color of the brakes on that car again.

Here's just a few more pictures of the day. Was indeed a shame we got there so late, and a pitty the F50 owner didnt bring his Enzo instead. Ah well.

Equal shot to yours, without the jacket in the shot.
Upload

The gorgeous Blue 360m that arrived after everyone had left. Unlike Bart and Edvar, I love those yellow brakes on the car!
Upload

Here's a funny shot. Bart and I were in the car when we suddenly spot a nice 348ts... While Bart was trying to get us in a good position for a picture, I was twisting and turning in my seat to capture the moment. With a bit of rotating, its not that bad :-). By the way, we missed our exit because we were to busy admiring the 348. *oops*
We gave the Guy a thumbs up and he returned us one, very cool.
Upload

Shot when we had just spotted the car, he wasn't speeding at all, just cruising down the Ring Amsterdam.
Upload

All in all we had a great day, weather was perfect and meeting Edvar was really nice. (thnx again for the HEMA tip, will definately use their photoprinting service in the future, pics looked great)

Today I went to a meeting of the Dutch Ferrari club. Edvar van Daalen provided me with the info of the meeting (so thanks to him, for finally seeing my 1st F50 :-)).

I was a bit late (well by far to late :-() so I only saw the cars leaving the parking lot.
Didn't had time to visit the End-point of the trip since I had to work tonight.

I also took a video but the quality is just to bad :-(
Here they are (got these in 1600x1200 aswell if any1 interested):
