I don't golf anymore, but I found an interesting golf site, but I don't think they have forums yet, maybe suggest it to them. Here it is: www.golfswap.net Alfie |

James, just don't ever get caught up in the frenzy of buying the newest clubs (woods and irons) on the market. Get used to your set, learn how to tell what the feel of the club and divot tells you about the resulting shot. While a good modern cavity back iron is important, the year to year changes are minimal. The majority of the improvements in your game will be in the fine-tuning of your swing. My irons are 11 years old and I wouldn't trade them for anything. I can tell almost exactly what happended to the ball flight just by the feel and the divot. |

Oh, I forgot to add that my best club is my Louisville Sluger. Works a ton better than any of the irons I have.... (sigh) DrS |

I try to golf. My GrandFather is a member of the Augusta National and I may be one of the few people ever tracked down by the Greens Keeper and asked to either STOP playing, or start useing a tee every time I hit..... (sigh) |

I'm heading to Hilton Head on Wed... will be playing Harbour Town on Saturday... a week after the pro tour leaves. We take an annual golf trip every year with a group of old friends... we've played some great courses ranging from Pebble and Spyglass to Pinehurst, LaCosta, Innisbrook, TPC Sawgrass, Troon North, Torrey Pines, Myrtle Beach, etc. This will be our 17th year. In the "old days" when we were a bit younger, we played 36 every day for 5 straight days. Nowadays, we play 36 twice and 18 twice. Great time! |

Been going to the range for a few months, just found out the other day that the balls they give you at the range are made to not go as far as the ones you would buy from a store;the net at the place i go to is 230 yards and, if i get a good shot off, i can come real close to it... Occasionally, i think i hit it... PLayed miniature golf with the Bird last night; my short game is beyond horrible... i'm playing golf with my boss in a few weeks and don't know what the hell i'm gonna do - unless i get a hole in one 18 times, i'm gonna lose, horribly... |

Yes I am a golfer been golfing for a long time very enjoyable, frustrating, exciting, all emotions rolled in to one sport. My wife and I golf on seperate leagues during week, and every other weekend on a travel league. We get to play different courses great time. One of main reasons purchased 308 able to place two small golf bags in rear storage area large enough to hold all clubs. I use Wilson Fat Shaft steel irons and King Cobra metal woods along with Ping putter wife uses Gallaway Big Bertha Graphite clubs. Love to play the farther from home the better reason to drive Ferrari. |

Perfect!!! I think both of you actually answered my question without even knowing what it was. I started playing last year. Took a few lessons and shoot around 100(haven't shot below 100 yet though). I am going to be taking more lessons starting next week, and will be playing quite a bit of golf as it's a part of my job. I recently graduated school. I still have student loans, and didn't want to pay big bucks for a fancy golf set, so about 3 of my co-workers threw together some extra equipment that was collecting dust in their basements and formed a set for me. All the stuff was about 2-3 years old and never looked like it had been used. Paid $200 U.S for everything. Cobra CXI irons (2-pw,52Gap,60Lob) Cleveland (SW) Adams (Driver, 16 degree 3 Wood) Cobra Baffler (20 degree driving iron) Cobra Bobby Grace putter So I don't have a 5 wood, but it looks like Greg doesn't use one, and John....you are using a driving ironlike my cobra baffler that replaces the 5 wood. My bag already has too many clubs and is getting heavy. I didn't really want to spend money of a 5 wood if it is seldom used, or if my driving iron will replace it. Regards, James Dixon |

I am a 3 handicap and currently carry: 9.5 degree Driver(Titleist 975J) 3-wood(callaway great big) 18 dgree driving iron (kinda replaces a 5-wood) 3iron-PW(Ping ISI Nickles) 53 degree wedge(clevland) 57 degree wedge(clevland) Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter As for forums? Not really sure. The key thing is to remember that a bad day on the course is a lot better than a bad day anywhere else! |

Driver, 3-Wood, Putter, Pitching Wedge, Lob Wedge (58 degree). Irons: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Other stuff (besides tees, balls, ball markers and divot tools): Umbrella, plastic bag cover for the rain, rain gloves, bug bite stick, "Off" bug repellant, Altoids, and a picture of your Ferrari. That's the basics... |
