I love all my 550 has for now. I am waiting to put 19" modular wheels on it. I love the sports seats, shields, red caliper and the fact that the car has NO TUBI. I like this car to be very low profile.

Got one with TUBI on this one,

Shelbee: Looks HOT! Hmm, guys with black maranellos have good taste! :-) The first picture is just awesome! Good height there.

But, I think it looks like you need an exhaust!

Dan, as proof that your car is beautiful, someone named Amir is on other forums, pretending to own YOUR 550 Maranello.

Edit: It went on for some time, but it's over. He was either busted or gave up. It was on E46fanatics. http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=96146

Andy's car is quite a Mustang. I've never been a mustang myself but this one is the only one I'd want to own myself. Most Cobra R's will stay stock but Andy turned his R into a track monster.

He had:
-Semi slick and slick tires
-Roll cage
-Camera mount
-Shift lights
-fuel cell
-differential cooler
-4 point harness
-fire extinguisher
-bassani side exhaust
-racing number

I don't need to tell you that since the Cobra R was never available with A/C, and considering the 90 degree with near 100% humidity factor in the hill country, Andy had to make regular pitstop for gatorade and water as well as changing shirts and shorts very oftenly! He was also geting 8 mpg at the most on the highway so we never could be too far from a gas station. But hey, he enjoyed the day very much and his car made quite an impression!

Unfortunately, his front lower spoiler was coming loose and vibrating alot over 90-100 so he had to back off during the day and let the 550 Maranello and the 996TT duke it out without him!

As for loudness factor, Omar's car was MUCH louder than the R from the back but from the front, the R was much louder than Omar's!

What a great day that was!

P.S. And the pace was Texas wild!

Dan,

Tell your folks they won't miss the friggin' fountain. Rip that sucker right out and mail it to Rolls. They might use it as a hood ornament or something...

I'm babbling...so tired...damn time zones! Upload

Guillaume,

I still feel bad about your visit. We were sitting there watching the race and I fell asleep, didn't even show you where the guest rooms were. So sorry! I woke up, and you were still right there!

I've never seen Andy's car, but I'm told it is a BEAST. EVeryone was ranting and raving about it.

--Dan

PS: Faisal - 550's turning radius is so bad, that space accentuates the problem.

I remember showing up at Dan's house very early morning after driving straight down from Vancouver, Canada and we stayed up and watched the British F1 grand prix, he did show me around the house but I didn't see the game room...what is it like?

Giullame,
it's a "dream" house. If you're in the area, ask him to take you to his game room in the basement.

There's not enough room to turn the cars around, though, because of that fountain...First thing I asked when I visited was how come he hadn't removed it yet. Turns out there's some aesthetic considerations. Well, excuuuuuuseee me!

Dan: after having lunch with the BMW M5 group I drove to Texas and a week or two later I went on their hill country drive and I remember leaving the first sync point behind Omar and I was wondering what kind of setup he was running. His car was louder than Andy's Mustang Cobra R at the time. Sweet setup and I must say that I don't think mine is as loud but it's definitly a high pitched wail...a bit like the champ cars!

Once again, nice house! Gotta love that round pavement design!

Shelbee: yes.
Jason: Thanks. I will snap some.

Guillaume: yeah - luckily he's not runnig them now, but that car is SO loud!!! I dunno how he lives with that thing - honestly it drones to a migraine-inducing point. Your car must sound absolutely wicked with the pipes, tho.

I'll make you a deal - next time you're in the area, let me know and you're more than welcome to take her out.

You know Dan, I thought of Amir when I saw that pic of your 550 Maranello from the top and there is a silver 330i that looked just like Amir (the one in Houston). Amir inspired me to get straight pipes for my Mini and his silver 330 had them as well and I thought that the 330 on that pic is his!

Nice pictures by the way, I remember very well your house and in fact, I have a couple shots of the entrance and the scenery from the back of the house as well as a general picture of the house!

And the 550 Maranello, well I can't say enough about how much I like the Maranello. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to drive a 360 Modena earlier this year and I look forward to one day test driving the 550 Maranello's torque! I'm hoping it will be my first V-12 drive ever!

Dan,

I'm sorry. I have 100% faith that you own the car.

My lack of faith lies with this guy named Amir who posted pictures of YOUR car saying that it's his.

http://forum.bavarianspeed.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1585

I questioned him and he said that he was your roommate from Cali and that you two had bought the car together "sort of like 50/50" (his words).

I knew something wasn't right.
