When I got into Ferraris (as a 23 year old kid), the cars I looked at were 250 GTE's, 308's and 365/400's. In hind sight, I should have held out for a GTE (which was more money than I was willing to spend at the time). I'm happy with what I have and now its time to get a 308, but for my better half and not for me. Sure, my car might not be the most exotic looking Ferrari and its not the fastest. But it still sounds better than any V8, even with Tubis! |

365's are maybe a little more than the 400/400i's, but cheaper than the 412's. The 412 is the equivelent in the 3x8 series to the 328, i.e. all the bugs worked out. However, it doesn't have the carbs or the wood console. All of the 365's were manuals, most of the others you'll find are automatics (not that there is anything wrong with them, the car is still bloody fast with 3 gears instead of 5). I've had mine since 1997 and have been very pleased with it, after I found a mechanic that knew what the hell he was doing. About the same in annual maintenance as my S-klass. If you're into tinkering on it, get a carbed car. If you are an owner who is only capabable of washing it, get an injected car. Just keep the water out of the hood vents... |

How much do 365 GT4 prices differ from 400 or 412 prices? Id assume the 412 is the most expensive of the 3? I could see myself in one of these instead of a 3X8 in the future! |

The carbs are easy to live with so long as the person on the other end of the screw driver knows what he's doing. I've got a great mechanic who takes very good care of me in that regard. As for tires, I'm having a set of Pirelli P4000s put on it this afternoon. Only took 3 days to get them. They are the same size and profile of the old XK-6 Jaguars. Not as easy to find, but still available. The 365/400/412 series offers serious motoring for Acura prices. Get a clean and maintained car, keep it maintained, and you can't go wrong. |

I posted about the rear lights in another thread, they looked very familiar to me! http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/21/288339.html?1059219737 |

damn, i've always liked the shape of the 365GT4; NICE photos... you know, this jazz about having to have the fastest little two seater 'buzz bomber' doesn't always hold up when you look at some of the 2+2 stuff Ferrari's put out in the past. Are the carbs a big drag to put up with, along with the knockoff wheels and no doubt hard to find tires?? Those would be my only concerns about owning one of these. |

The four tail lights are original as far as everyone can tell. Keith Bluemel and I have bugged Ferrari about it. Their answer, go bug Pininfarina. Ah, dealing with Italian paperwork... |

Must be prettier in person! The cockpit looks well-maintained. Is the back-end modified, ie., 4 tail lights? |

Several people have asked for pictures of my car, with its 4 tail lights instead of the usual 6. I had the digital camera out this weekend, and maybe I got a little carried away.
