Stacy, I saw that car last summer and he wanted 47K for the car. I bet you picked it up for 40k ??? I also saw a few cars Rocco had. Have you had any problems with the 308 ? Your car also had a bad steering rack right ? (loose steering). |

Tony, Yes, the car is from Daytona. It is a 78. from what i understand it had a cosmetic restoration a few years ago. In terms of the price I probably paid too much for it but I really liked the car and had looked at quite a few other crappy ones. I had Rocco Solmito from Rock's restoration check the car out before I bought it so I knew what I was getting into. He found a leaking cam drive seal which the guys at Daytona replaced (big job)as well as the wet timing belt. They also fixed a worn bushing on the right tie rod but I was checking out something down there the other day and saw that they sliced the steering rack bellows to do it and didn't replace it! I'm pissed off about that. If you are in the market I would suggest you get in touch with Rocco, he really seems to know about the cars in the area. I think he is an honest guy |

Hi, Looks like you bought the car from Daytona Auto in Woodbridge. What year was this car the 79 they had restored ? How did you find their price and level of service ? |

Items such as the mirrors, no rear exhaust valance, and small side directionals would indicate Euro, however the front turn signal should be amber and clear...maybe not for that year. Beautiful car! |

You are right, that is a Bora. They had just taken it in on consignment. Pretty neat car but but I don't like the back of it as much as a Merak. |

I see a 400i and a Maserati Bora (I can tell by the polished aluminum roof) in the background...anyone back me up on that call?? The car looks to be a Euro....that is one beautiful car my friend!! GORGEOUS! |

The smaller, round front (and no rear) side marker lights plus the more minimal venting on the engine bonnet also say non-US. |

Well you have a euro front spoiler from the looks of it, as well as euro style mirrors, and (although it could be the glare on my laptop) it looks as if you don't have an exhaust shield in back which would suggest euro. But you have US bumper obviously. I tend to think it's a Euro car. It's tough though because it could have been changed to look like either one. Is that a 400i in the background of pic 4? |

The snow has been piling up here in Canada so I have to look at these pics every once in awhile to avoid sinking into a depression. I will give the dreaded image post a try so you can have a look too. Hopefully I can figure out how to do it before spring. Here is a test for the diehards. Euro or US? How do you know?
