I really like red but I think most Ferraris in other colors (esp. yellow) look very good, too, esp. when the car is well-cared for.

Nice car, Stu. The leather and vinyl interior looks well-maintained.

Hey Tom - it's cool! I appreciated your comments as well. I'm pretty happy with everything except, as I stated, the red calipers that you asked about. If I had it to do over again, I would skip that one. :-)

Peter - look forward to it! Thanks

I thought really only one had critism - us others just stated our opinion but in the end it still is a gorgous car and if you are happy that is what matters

Stu: "...Hey, nobody noticed the Momo steering wheel or the change from Euro 390mm wheels to 16" ones!"

That's because they were too busy criticizing the other changes you made!

Looks great dude and I'm looking forward to not only seeing it, but to hear it on the move (hopefully at the LaConner drive?).

Hey Mike - no offense taken (although Louis - you sound a bit bitter man - havin' a bad day??)

The mats are from Keith Collins and although a bit bright, are really plush and a very high quality. I changed because the old original mats were thin and curling at the edges.

I happen to like the look of the "old-style" aluminum instrument face plate rather than the flat black look. The aluminum pedals are a nice feel, especially in the rainy Northwest. I did the calipers red but not all that excited with the way they look. I also happen to like the "US" style black front fins, where as the Euro ones are body colored.

Everything I did can be reversed, as I have all the old parts. I guess part of the fun of ownership is doing whatever "floats your boat"!

Hey, nobody noticed the Momo steering wheel or the change from Euro 390mm wheels to 16" ones!

Thanks for the feedback!

I have to say I like the old too, did you also change the dash plate around the speedo and tach?

No offense, but I thought it looked better the way you originally had it in the interior. The plain blue floormats without the logo, the simpler cover for the fuse panel without the sf badge, the stock black pedals and instrument cluster. It looked classy and lush with the strong contrast that was there before and is now gone.

Outside, though, I do like the shields and the black painted grilles.

Before and after.....

The pictures at the start of this thread were taken by the selling dealer just before I bought the car. The pictures directly below were taken yesterday (about two years later) and after a few changes. Notice the differences??

Daniel, I believe Stu's 308QV is a '85 Euro and just like mine (an '84 Euro), the louvers do not go all the way across on the rear bonnet. Also, the rear spoiler was an option, not standard equipment on QV's.

It's actually a lot of fun to get two QVs, one US and one Euro, park them side by side and notice all of the differences. There are many more than you'd think.

Is it me or does your 308 have the older 70's gtb style rear bonnet? I thought that the grills in the rear bonnet went all the way across on all of the 80's and most of the 70's gts? If this is not true for all gts models. also, you do not have the rear wing attacehd to your bonnet like the other 308qv's. thanks,

Hi Stu,
Ah, gorgeous color Sera Blue. Are the carpets blue also? Looks like it in your photo. Blue/tan is a great combo. Chiaro is a fav of mine too.

Stu,

Your car is absolutely beautiful. Red smacks of tradition, but I have to admit the color accentuates the lines, and really sets off the interior.

and not the file name (it will prompt you for that when you actually post the message). Try:

"\" + "image" + "{whatever text you'd like}"

without the quote signs, spaces, and + signs of course. (I think it may need the curly brackets to properly "recognize" that it's an image)
