Here a few pics from the event. The first shows the vast Continental service area with all the stands. Can something Ferrari be called a flea market?
Second shot are a few Chicago F chatters:
Bob, Chris, Andreas and Noel.

Mike, thanks for the name tags!

Last shot are the same suspects in front of Noel's beautiful 360 spyder, err spider, convertible, cabriolet, whateva.

PS: We had a hot and spicy dinner at Panang. Next on the list: Choco de Fao on La Salle, any takers?

By the way, the evening event is usually quite nice. Good snacks and wine usually. Bob Bondurant should be interesting also.
I don't think I'll stay for the GP. Maybe I'll watch it in my hotel room if I can stay up that late.

I'll have a couple of tables full of shi...OOPS I mean great stuff for sale. We could use my table area as a meeting spot. Would be up for a few drinks with Chris afterwards, as soon as I load up what is left. Hopefully I won't have anything left to haul home.

Jay, not planning on attending the evening event.

However Karen and I will go for another F1 dinner in Chicago's Chinatown: Panang is a relatively new Malaysian restaurant. We ate there last year for the GP and the place is beautiful (looks like you're sitting in a rustic bamboo hut) and phantastic cuisine.

We'll go for an early dinner after the Continental 'flea market'. Any joiners welcome!

Is anyone planning on attending the evening cocktail event? I don't think I will take my personal time off arly in the season, my reasoning being that if I take time off it will snow that day or something. I'll save the time for that summer event that I don't want to miss. Anyway, I can make it after work but was wondering who would still be there. Let me know, I'm looking forward to putting faces with all of these names.

Well, let's see, we could play a 'Kevin Beacon' type game here:
Chris know Bob. Bob knows me. I know Jay. So only Noel is the unknown. So all we need to do is give his lovely 360 a little whack, the alarm goes off and we all immediately Noel.

I have a bunch of stuff: wheels, lenses, old magazines, steering wheels, some neat brand new Fila European jackets with Marlboro logos not available in the US, car cover, floor mats, air pumps, new carpet sets, seat covers, all kinds of things I have accumulated over the years. Parts are mostly for 308's and some Maserati stuff. I need to clean out the garage and convert some of this stuff into cash to support my habit.
Bob Bondurant is a former racer probably best known for the Cobra and GT 40 era. He is the Bondurant school. In the past the evening gathering has just been a social affair with the vintage racers and Ferrari & Maserati people. Last year Joe Marchetti was the special guest.

Weather permitting I think I'll take a ride over there. Not sure there are many books or models left that I don't yet have, but just meeting some folks and cars again after the long winter would be nice.

Just talked to the fine people at Continental, the model/Lit. expo is being held March 22. At least we have a date for this set.
