Happy to do so, Frank. Guess that'll be my first autograph as a F dude and not as a fake astronaut.

Great contest,Andreas. Next year,I would be more than glad to join you for some of these F1 dinners. ALL of that food looked GREAT! And,you saw me,and can tell that I was never shy around food! Anyway,my 6 year old son,Frankie,Jr.,saw your car collection in the background,of the picture that you posted of the shirt. He has a nice little collection started of his own,and has a 1:18 scale, red 360spider,among others, and,he asked me if he could ask you to sign it for him. I told him that we'd see! See,even a 6 year old can recognize a cool dude when he meets one!

Andreas. When you said,"appalling",I immediately got it.(I think!) And,yes, there is an original McDonalds-like in the "old days"(right, like when I was a kid!)Thats in DesPlaines,Il. on River Rd. This one is basically a museum, though, with mannequins inside, and some old cars parked outside. And they have a newer, regular McD's across the street. But,yes,I am old enough to remember those old time ones, where there wasn't ANY seating inside, just walk up and order. No BigMac's yet. No McNuggets yet. Just burgers, fries, pop, and shakes! And they had those giant "arches" over the whole building.

Speaking of: Was thinking about including it to represent the US, but came up with another appauling picture.

Anyway, the Rock 'n' Roll McDees would also be a nice backdrop for our cars. There is so much good stuff in the city. Seriously. Also (I forgot where exactly) there is the first McDees ever built in Chicagoland and still operating.

Planning on going to Biasetti's on Saturday for a late lunch. Time to get some Italian food to celebrate the Italian GP.

Anybody up for it?

We're heading out of town on Friday for a week. Going to Galena, and I'm going to have to scout out Speed Channel pretty quickly!

Anybody up for some Hungarian Gulasch at the European Cafe on Ashland? The place is really cute and serves great food. We're going there for an early fiveish dinner.

Hockenheim demands some more Sauerbraten with Schpaetzle. We're planning on going to the Hofbraeuhaus on Lincoln and something (it is in the German 'neighbourhood'/part, somewhere around 4000 N.) on Saturday for an early dinner. Any takers?

Have been to that place last year for the German GP. Great food and very German. They even have their own umpa band and lots of dirndels and Krachlederhosen.

Alles klar an der Bar!

Would be cool. Ready for any plans you have. BTW: Would love to take picture of your car from ABOVE. From our new apartment we can look straight down 22 stories. That basically gives a vertical perspective and your car is open.

Anyway, we're going for British food (yikes!) at the 'Pub' on Belmont and the inner Lake Shore Dr. At about 5pm today. In case you guys can swing it.

How about some Chips and Fish at Elephant Castle for lunch this week?

Kinda ironic for me to eat British after a week in London, but what the hell. Had there mostly Indian cuisine anyway, Brits don't know how to cook.

Currently planning on having some heavy German food Sunday after the Oak Brook event at Resi's Bierstube on Irving Park.

Anybody up for some Knackwurst mit Bier?

Jack, no problemo. The Italian and French restaurants are the easy sells with my girl.

It is the German and British food, where I need your company as she might not be too pleased by yet another Bockwurst mit Sauerkraut.

Thinking about some nice French restaurant standing in for Monaco's cuisine. Any suggestions or plans to join us? We're probably targeting an earlyish Saturday dinner.

Good question Jack. Canadian is always difficult, as is Monaco (the only Monaco restaurant we had in town closed last fall) now.

I'll mention your suggestion to Karen. We normally pick a place on about Lincoln and Touhy I believe. Very rustic place and has some Canadian style food.

Anyway, I'm planning on going to Berghoff's for lunch on Wednesday, say 11:45 (to beat the 12:00 crowds). Who's in? Jack? Noel? As I said, drinks are on me (but don't drink and trade...).

Wow, has it been 2 weeks already? I got talked into heading over to Hawthorne for the Derby. For what it's worth, I dig horse racing almost as much as lengthy dental procedures, but I haven't seen these friends in a while. I might be taking the train, so let me know what time you'll be there--may be able to stop by on the way home.

Anybody interested in some Sangria and Tapas at Iberico (La Salle and about Ohio) on Saturday late afternoon?

PS: The Imola 'dinner' was quite authentic, eaten at the track like a real Tifosi

As part of a GP weekend my girlfriend and I always go for a inner out in a restaurant of the hosting country. Thanks to the ethnicity of the city we can cover allmost all of them.

We're currently planning on going to the Outback Steakhouse South/East of O'Hare on Friday, March 7th. If anybody would like to join us, that'd be great.

I realize, this is a bit of a longshot, but I'll keep you guys posted anyway. After all, this is going to be the year where we can finally even cover the Interlagos GP!
