Oh, well in that case maybe a pic might help. One of those close up ones that nobody knows what it is until you tell them. You know, to see the crack. The embossed still pretrudes a little and I just don't see it as being cost effective. If someone steals them just get the screw-ons the next time round. Jay |

Jay, thanks for your nice comments. Actually the shields you saw on my car were $ 20 stickies. They're off now. I got a pair of real enamel 288 GTO shields which I'll apply, but not embossed. Also got a pair from F Chatter Paul Bianco, but those are too curved for a 308, fit better to a 348. Won't use them at this moment. |

Andreas, Your shields are fine. They look really nice. I didn't notice any space between them and the fenders. The stickies are probably the way to go so your right on target. I spoke to a dealer of both shields, sticky and screwy, and he said that most people get the stickies. He said that he sold screwies mostly to people using them for racing applications. I want the stickies also but was also looking into the screwies. The one thing about the stickies is that if you decide you don't like them you can take them off. Drilling into a Ferrari is always a bad idea. So is aftermarket embossing from shops that are not very well experienced in embossing. I am told that you only get one try. Even after the embossing the shields still stick out a bit. Go check out Lake Forest Motorsports. They have a sample shield embossed on a fender on one of their displays. Personally, with all due respect, I think embossing would be useless to your specific situation seeing that you already have them installed on the car. Your car won't look any different then before and thieves are not going to be detoured from taking the shields because they are embossed in to the fender. I think your car is very nice and the shields are perfect the way they are. My 2 cents. Jay |

My enamel badges are stickies... 8-0 They came with 3M tape. They're not OEM, but close. And they were not $ 15, more like $ 150. That's why I'm considering the embossing. Would never do that for the stickies. |

even more reason to go with the stickeys. if someone were to steal them it wont damage your car, and you are only out around $15. the enamel badges need stronger glue or a drill job. |

Thanks for that encouragement Noel. It's not that I'm such a snob, that I have to have it done perfectly right. My concerns are more, that the shields I got now do not perfectly match the curvatures of the fenders. So I'm afraid some punk walks by and sticks his keys underneath trying to pry them off. Hey, it is Chicago after all! Had to purchase back my hub caps more than once... |

Thinking about embossing the S/F shields on the front fenders. Any recommendations for a body shop around here that would do this kind of work? Or am I overdoing it and should just stick 'em on? |
