That's ironic. I was on the phone with the track's ticket office yesterday. I was curious how much the season pass would be discounted without the CART race. The rep was sure that it would be cancelled...Always the last to know. |

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (AP) -- The Grand Prix of Road America was restored to the Champ Car schedule Wednesday, with organizers saying issues that caused the event to be canceled have been resolved. The race, back on the schedule for Aug. 3, will be renamed the Mario Andretti Grand Prix at Road America in honor of the racing great credited with pushing for further discussions to settle the dispute between Road America and CART. |

Street race in Chicago? Whooohooo!!! That'd be a riot. Good idea re ALMS, I might join you. Would love to see those GT Ferraris in action. |

Mike, I've heard from extremely un-official sources that CART has reached a deal for a Chicago street race either in '04 or '05. Find it odd that nothing would be said about it here, but it's worth hoping for! I think I might actually go to RA for the ALMS race this year. Camp out, and get a full weekend of racing with fewer people in the way! |

For many years now, the RA race has been the largest sporting event in Wisconsin and one of the better attendance events for CART. I just can't imagine my all time favorite place to go to see a race won't have my all time favorite race! I went to St Petersburg for the first CART race this year and came home quite enthused. I was worried with all that has happened, that it would not be enjoyabe, but it turned out to be a good race, excellent crowd, and nice new venue. I hope CART doesn't screw up anything else! |

The latest Autoweek (3-20) re-visits this, and I was surprised to see that Pook is actually anxious to abandon RA, as well as Mid-Ohio, since they lack proper facilities for a corporate environment. Whatever happened to the "loss-leader" approach, where a race like RA is good for the overall image of the series even though it's not a cash cow?! |

According to Davis Hobbs during F1 qualifying last weekend (he has a Honda Dealership in Greendale,WI) he said that CART is getting ridiculous on what it's trying to get from corperate sponsors and such for thier events. |

From what I read, RA has not paid the CART fees when due. Hence the . Rumors have also been floating that RA wanted to boot CART because they have already signed with the IRL for their first non oval race |

Anyone know what has happened here? On The Indianapolis news station they indicated there is a lawsuit between CART and Road America. |
