I have been out of town for a while. What are the details for SD II (Spring Drive II). I would much rather drive than landscape with the in-laws.

I hope you guys realized, that Bob started a new thread about this drive title 'May drive part II'.

So who is on for this drive/walk other than Bob and myself?

Jack? Ghostrider? Chris (need a lift?)? Dan? Michael? Jay (need a lift?)?

You guys can't me just leave alone with Bob in the woods...that's too weird.

My wife and I were laying out the summer calendar the other day and wincing at how full it's already getting. Ironically, we have NOTHING going on over Memorial Day weekend. Go figure...Let's go for a ride!

24th sounds good. So what is the current count:

2 x 308 (Bob and I), 1 x NSX (Ghostrider), 1 x 328 (Jack), 1 x 348 (Dan)

Did I miss anybody? Jay, Noel?

I'll keep my promise about the gifts. I'll even open the offer for cool non F cars, like a NSX.

Thanks for the thought, A. I should be up and driving this afternoon, which puts me back in the running for the rain date. Blackout dates for me are 5/31, 6/7 & 6/14.

Andreas, thanks for leaving a message on my cell -- I got it!

Well, the forecast still has the thunderstorms in it for the late afternoon. That would be a nono for the Campenmobile. Which would make this event a 1 Ferrari show only (mine) and that ain't fun.

I'd rather go for a different date, where we would also get a chance to have Jack with his 328 in it.

It's noon and the weather has changed again, in Aurora the sun is poking out and the rain has stopped for now. The dopler update is not working and the last image is from 11:10 am, at that time it showed clouds to the east and semi clear west. What do you guys want to do?

I live five minutes from Fox Valley Motors. I see Ferrari-melting liquid falling from the sky at moderate rates. The alternate dates are sounding pretty good right now.

Andreas,

I am leaving for my engagement at 9:30am. Assuming we have not cancelled by then (and I don't think we should since it does seem to be a possibility that the day remains warm and overcast as of now) I will give you a call around 1:00pm to get the latest info on our meet since I will be out of pocket (and away from the computer).

Just wanted to give you a heads up that I will be calling, so if you could keep your cell on as you indicated you would. Look forward to speaking with you then.

Regards.

The 24th is btw the day of that hot rod concours in Naperville (remember Bob, your buddy invited us). We could crash the party by showing up in Italian style...

My car can handle an occasional shower, but driving around in the rain all afternoon long ain't much fun.

I stopped by the garage on my way home. Before me were two red Ferraris in a state of repair. As I looked at one, then back at the other, a wave of realization washed over me. Both cars would not be done in time. One must be chosen. Without hesitation, I knew what I had to do. "Finish...the...308."

Guys, if it is at all possible to change the meeting time to 2:00pm as suggested by Bob, that would be much appreciated as realistically, I only be able to make it between 2:00 and 2:30ish given my prior committment. I am looking forward to meeting you all and will be very disappointed if I miss the meet due a half-hour delay. Also this way, Jay can also try to attend.

Bob, the NSX is Black.

Andreas, thanks much for providing me with a contact point. I will get in touch with you if need be. But if the meet time is scheduled for 2:00pm, I will almost definitely be there shortly thereafter.

Regards.

PS -- Andreas my cell number is 773.454.8482. Perhaps you could store it (for the day) just to give me a quick update in case your plans change on the fly.

I'm asking because I've got a committment that starts at 10:00am and won't finish till 1:00pm, after which point I will jet out and try to catch up with you guys. Is there is a cell phone number that I can get for somebody, just to coordinate. Thanks, and look forward to seeing you guys there (hopefully!).

No, for me it was always between these guys and Continental. No problems with LF, it's just that Continental is closer. I was waiting to get a good feel for EuroAuto, which I did, so I went with them. I'm sure you'll be done first--just kidding about bumping you. I might stop by the "hospital" on my way home today to see how goes-it.

Hmm, should I be happy or ticked off about this?

Good, that he thinks my car doesn't need much work.
Interesting, that you picked the same garage. I thought you were on the fence between Lake Forest and Continental.
Not too happy, that mine got bumped in the sequence. Oh well, I'll live. Only hurt ego.
:-)

Hopefully we'll get them both back before Saturday.

Thanks for the directions, Bob.

Just brought it in for its annual check-up. The guy looked over the service papers and thought it was actually 'over serviced'. So he'll (hopefully) just do the usual fluid changes incl. brake fluids for the upcoming track day. Gave him one of your oil filters.

BTW: After the car goes back to the HiFi shop for some more sound system upgrades...it never ends.

Would have love to bring one of them Fosters' pit girls along, now that's a different story.

Good to have you back Andreas, we need to pick a starting point either Fox Valley Motors and walk among the Labos or Meadowdale and walk on what's left of the old track. I'm good for any of the above, what do the rest of you want to do. Either way meet between noon and 1, give me some input on this.

Andreas, was the crowd as sparse as it appeared on TV?

race was pretty good; caught the Rubino pass on film; every back and forth; was great; when Fisico expired the smoke of the engine came even to our stands

winner ceremony was very subdued; but the fans still went nuts

saw two 355; a 360 and two 550 today in the sinuous roads of Tuscany; it doesnt get better than this; even in my stupid rental these are fun; wish I had my car here

Hey guys, what's up? I'm still alive though I've been busy with work and moving. May 10th sounds good but I need it to be kind of late in the afternoon, say 3-3:30. If not maybe I could catch you guys for a few beers and pizza or something. I want to meet everyone so I'm really excited. Cant wait to see all those F-cars together. See you later, Jay

Because of the weather around here we have not had a chance to do the Meadowdale tour yet, is anyone interested in meeting there instead of FoxValley Motors? Lots of good driving roads close to both of them.

Ok thanks. I will keep an eye out for the details, and go ahead and rearrange my other committment. Barring unforseen weather, I will assume we are on.

Regards.

Hey guys, is this confirmed?? I wanted to know so I could rearrange another committment that I have that is conflicting with this date. How many cars do we have? Bob, are you the designated "ring-leader"? ;)

Regards.

Well, no offense. The ironic thing would be, that the camera would show all the cool F cars, but you'd only hear the engine sound of the Acura. Kinda sweet revenge.
:-)
Did you ever see the video they shot at the Paris Peripherique? That's kinda my idea.

I think we should install the video cam in the NSX then. That way we can 'dance around' the Acura and get our ladies on tape.

I got mounts for roll bars and wind shields. Works great.

...just an idea of course.

Would love to join, if you guys don't mind an NSX being part of the crew.

How does May 10th work for everybody? We could do about the same as last years spring drive, meet at Fox Valley Motors then out to the back roads for a drive and stop for pizza after the drive.
