Noel: Sorry, if I present myself as not being conciliatory to your situation. I do recall reading, numerous times, that Ferrari will not honor a Euro version car for warranty......this was stated in numerous articles, over the last few years. We all know that Euro models are considerably less expensive than US models.....WHY? My guess would be the lack of warranty. Didn't you realize this when you bought the car, and saved thousands of dollars, over a US version? Maybe a PPI would have been in order. I recall buying a 246 GT years ago, and had the trans rebuilt several months later, due to bad synchros, that I didn't notice at the time of purchase. The car was sold, by a Ferrari dealer, with NO warrantee. I should have had a PPI done, but didn't.......MY fault. I had the trans fixed, paid the fee, and went on with my life.....enjoyed the Dino very much. Now you are in the same situation, and you feel the factory should fix your problem....WHY? You bought it with NO warrantee, and probably knew that. I do hope that the final bill will be less, for your sake. Think of it this way......you are still thousands of dollars ahead of buying a US version..........Until, of course, your next problem surfaces!!!!!! |

Jack, I think it is Continental (having been there a couple of weeks ago for the 'flea market'). Personally I'll be going to the place on Lincoln and something. It's European Autos or something. The guy is Italian (for what that's worth), knows a ton about F cars and has his garage full of F cars and other high priced cars like RR, Jags etc. If he can fix a 512BBi in there, it sure is good enough for my 308 I think. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Soon taking my car there for the first time. |

Noel, I posted on the other page as well, but which garage are you using for your service. I'm still on the fence. |
