Actually, when I went to LFSC,they had never seen me before. So,it didn't bother me that they had a salesman ride along. Plus,I had alot of questions about the car. So,if there were any sounds or anything,I could have asked him about it.(there weren't)But,I had a chance to ask him what he knew about the car,history,etc...while we were in it. But,after the first time,(out of 3 visits)to FoxValley, they let me take it out, alone, just arond a long(mile) block. They had my car, keys, photocopy of Drivers License, and Insurance card,(on file, after the first visit)So,I would really reccommend that a salesman DO ride along,so if there's any noises, vibrations,or issues of any kind. You can ask him about it,and, who knows...maybe get the price down a little..if it's nothing serious, ofcourse!

I have bought 2 Ferraris from LFSC, in the past. When I was looking at a 348 GTS, they handed me the keys, told me to take it out....by myself!!!!! I came back in about an hour, with 50 miles more on the car......no problem. It really DOES help to have bought before. But then I feel this would be true of any dealer......I hope.

Thanks I figured they get lots of joy riders I was just asking cause I heard that some dealers dont let you test drive the car as it add's miles and decreases the value and they people dont want to buy cars. That have been previously driven and tested. But since its a Ferrari not that many people are going to test drive them.

Yes,they do. But... Probably only if they can tell if you are REALLY SERIOUSLY considering buying. I am sure that they get "joy riders" who just want to know what it feels like (WONDERFUL!) to drive a FERRARI!!! I bought my 308 from them in January 2001. It was a Christmas present to myself, after making the rest of the family REALLY happy for Christmas. AND...Always promised myself that I'd get a Ferrari when I was 40...and time was running out! In February,I was turning 41. So,to make a long story short(er)...YES,they let me take the car for a drive. LUCKILY...even though it was JANUARY...There hadn't been any real snow for awhile(remember that winter?) So,we drove through LakeForest, then over to RT.41,so that I could,"open it up" alittle bit. Only about 15 minutes. Got back,I bought the car. So,I don't see why they won't .Also.checked out a couple different Ferrari's at Fox Valley Motors. They could also tell that I was seriously out to buy. But,by all means...I am not saying that they WILL let you drive one. But,I was able to. Also, this was 3 years ago...who knows if their insurance regulations changed. AND...They always had a salesman riding along, which is pretty much standard practice these days. But,if you are absolutely serious about buying,...man...they HAVE to let you drive the car! (it probably helped that when I went to check out these cars,I arrived in a Corvette,or,a Porsche. And ...left the Mrs., as "collateral":-) GOOD LUCK! and have fun.

Does LFSC Offer Test Drives to serious buyers. I once heard that most Ferrari Dealers dont offer any type of Test Drive.

Yeah, I wonder if they'll blow out their inventory just like Abt did before they moved!

LFSC is changing their name to LBSC.

Well probably not, but they are planning to move early next year to Lake Bluff, about five miles from their current location. New building and a much larger service area.

I know I'm waiting for the big pre-moving sale on 575's

Okay, I think this thing is finally over. They replaced my ECU(see thread in general diss), and the car runs waaaay better. The guys at LFSC were great, they could have charged me labor to replace my ECU, and tinker with my car, but they decided to be generous and charge my only for the part. I think that they acted in good faith and decided to cut me slack. So all in all, it could have been worse, and the guys at LFSC, did what they could to be fair and professional(and as always, friendly). they did what they could to be informative, and patient with my frequent calls and questions. So, now the car is running the way it should. I spent 4 hours detailing it yesterday...that's fine.

As some of you guys know I just had the clutch replaced on my car. I just wanted to write a quick note on the experience. Basically the service dept. there is totaly professional. They were very good about answering all of my questions and making sure that I was as happy as could be considering the situation. As far as I can tell everything was done as quickly as it could have been, they also showed me all the the stuff that needed to be replaced. The service manager also, took photos of my car while in pieces to show what they were doing and emailed them to me. Also, when I told them that picking my car up on tuesday might have been a problem, they offered to flat bed it down to me(I live about an hour away), I thought that was a cool gesture. All in all, from the owner of the dealership to the service dept., it seems like a solid group of people. I would recomend them.
