You know? I read alot of things posted on all of the various chat sites about poor Ferrari air conditioning. But,in my car ,it blows out HARD and ICE COLD! Never had a problem, yet. Do have a problem with the air cond. in my 'vette. Probably just needs a recharge. No biggie.(I hope ! ) |

Anthony, I know that about the pizza thing in Florida, i have many friends there that complain about that. But, a place in Naples has the worlds best BBQ Ribs, Micheal Bobs... Awsome Ribs there!! Frank, I agree, you just have to be careful with low mileage cars, i was nervious buying mine, it had 5200 miles on it and reviewing the past service records showed that only about 200 miles were put on the car in two years. I took the risk though and the car has been great! I have added about 2k miles in the last three months with no problems. I do have a list of items to fix though, but they can wait till the winter months for that.... Anthony, Let me know how you like the Tubi Exhaust, i have been considering that for mine... I saw another low mileage 89 328 black one for sale in Florida yesterday on Ebay.... I have to stop looking, i may want to get another one.... Thing i will fix this winter on my 328 : The A/C needs to be fixed, i may just replace the compressor and convert the system to the new freon, I have some minor oil drips from the screws on the oil pan. The shift shaft seal is slightly leaking too, i want to replace the stereo with a more up to date one, clean the A/C ducts, i get foam pieces that fly out of them. There is some minor body paint work i'm thinking about getting corrected too. I may also go through the engine and replace the oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, air cleaner, R&R the air cleaner box, maybe replace belts... so on and so on... The Major service was done about 4 yrs ago, but i will probably get the timing belts checked if posibly too....

I have to agree with you guys about low mileage cars. I see all these posts in Ferrarichat that say,"stay away from low mileage cars like the plague!" B.S.,I say. I bought a low mileage car almost 3 years ago,and STILL no drips, leaks. And,even if you DO have to replace seals and stuff, then,it's DONE, AND,you still have a low mileage car. In my opinion,it doesn't matter WHAT mileage a car has,as long as it's been WELL MAINTAINED. At least, started up once in a while,or,better yet, driven a little bit. Low OR high. Doesn't matter to me. But,my personal preference is a low mileage car, because it still feels "tight",drives nice, rides nice. And I am glad I got the car I got. There's been a 1990 Corvette ZR1 at the Museum of Science and Industry for,at least 10 years. Now,last time I was there,it wasn't in the display. I would be very afraid to buy that car, because, obviously hasn't been started at all in that time. But...If you did everything that you are supposed to do when you attempt to start up a car that sat for a long time,(change fluids, put some oil in the cylinders,etc... Or,even if you have to rebuild the engine, you still end up with a vey low mileage ,well preserved car,(sure...it could cost ALOT of $$.) But...who else has a ZR1 with ,probably, under a few hundred miles!? Same thing for a Ferrari-but...BETTER! (and more $$) |

Tod, Foreign Cars Italia? Once again, I looked at that car too. And chose not to buy for the same reasons. I ended up buying an 87 with 20,000 miles from Foreign Cars Italia. I would have rather had your car with 5,200 miles though. Thanks alot. J/K At the time, they still had that car in the showroom, along with mine. It sold the same weekend I bought mine though. I hope to have my car this weekend. Been waiting over six weeks! Waiting for a set of rims from HRE, had a Tubi installed and they completed a 30,000 mile service. Trying to remain patient. Made first payment without actually having the car. LOL! Florida is a nice place for a vacation, but it's a completely different animal living here. Miss the midwestern people and the food. Especially pizza. It's all New York style here. Going to Chicago in October, will probably put on 10 pounds. |

Yes,Andreas! I DEFINITELY AGREE with you about the DRIVING part. I had several cicumstances which were beyond my control,i.e: road construction-2 years in a row!,Health problems,(bad back, and a cast on my left arm,to name a few)That prevented me from driving as much as I'd like to. But,the cast is off,the roads are done. Only thing left is a bad back. I have good days and bad days. But,I am ready to do as much driving as possible-weather permitting! So,I am up for a drive pretty much anytime. Some nice Fall drives up north could be in order,to see the colors. Have lunch. Photo ops. But...I'm STILL gonna keep my car clean! |

Anthony, I also found a 1989 328 Black/tan in North Carolina that had only 500 miles on it!!! But they wanted some serious $$$ and i was a bit nervious about a car that was 14 yrs old and never driven, but it looked sharp! SO, you don't like it in Florida? I ussually visit friends in Ft. Myers every year and i have a cousin in Miami and friends in Sarasota too.. I ussually visit in the winter months... |

Actually, no, I didn't get to see the car. Unfortunately, you beat me to the punch. I also saw the car in the dupont registry earlier in the year. When I finally picked up the phone to inquire about it, it was too late. Actually, I called them while you were in town. Small world huh? You basically picked up a brand new car. That's great! I wish it were mine. Good luck with it. I'm glad to see that someone from the midwest got it. I'm originally from Chicago, but unfortunately live in Florida now. |

Don made a great point: " I say more driving and less fussing." I need to remember that once in a while. It is easy getting caught up in the fussing. But driving is what these babies are here for. Driving! |

Don,I've been like that with ALL my cars! Even $100.00 "work beaters" that I had when I was younger...Buffing them out, always washing and waxing them,Armorall EVERYTHING! (Yup...I am one of THOSE GUYS!) So,I am ESPECIALLY proud of my Ferrari. You should see me getting it ready for shows. It starts out, clean. But,I polish and wax. Armorall,Tire goo,Leather condition, glass, got out Q-tips,...the works! But,I enjoy keeping it up and clean. Hey...It's a Ferrari! So,why not. It Deserves it! It's lasted 22 years in good condition,so,it's my responsibility to keep it that way. (besides,I get alot of help from Junior!) |

Well, our cruise on Saturday to Geneva, i turned 7k over on my 88 328... I've had it now for three months and got it at 5200 miles on it. It has been running GREAT, no problems.... (knock on wood). I do have a list started for this winter to get things fixed, but for now, while the weather is nice..drive....drive...drive..... |

You think that's bad, Frank told me Saturday that he was thinking of getting it painted! I say more driving and less fussing. Here's the link to Zaino that I promised you Frank: http://www.zainostore.com/ Their Z-5 product is the swirl-mark assassin. |

I just bought a 308 with 48.8K Unfortunately, I have only logged about 200 miles, some of that going to Lake Forest (twice) in an attempt to get the gremlin plaguing my new baby fixed! Any thoughts on LFSC? |

As long as you don't approach the big expensive 30k... Next year I'll be hitting 40k. Need to take a picture of when that will happen. Bob and I were on a drive, when his car hit a round one, but we missed it. |

Well, after driving around with my son on Friday night, and cruising the second to last Downers Grove cruise night. And the nice drive on Saturday. And another little drive on Sunday night, after all my "required" events. I am at 17,992 miles on my '81-308. When I got the car almost 3 years ago. It had 14,250. And,when I approached 15,000, was kind of "freakin'out." Same for 16,000. Got over it by 17,000- I just told myself that this car was "saved" for me!! So,now that I am approaching 18,000, I'm O.K. about it. But...when I am approaching 20,000, I may need some consoling!...Just kidding!! I am sure it'll be alright. Any "anecdotes" of your own? Thanks! |
